Scripture References For Building Up Faith In Prayer

I have compiled below some scripture references to help build up the spirit man and faith. If you find yourself being assailed by unbelief, doubt or fear then these should hopefully help you to counter those lies with the truth of the Word.

"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? If you then, who are evil, now how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!" (Matthew 7:7-11 English Standard Version)

"And to the centurion Jesus said, 'Go; let it be done for you as you have believed.' And the servant was healed at that very moment." (Matthew 8:13 ESV)

"When he entered the house, the blind men came to him, and Jesus said to them, 'Do you believe that I am able to do this?' They said to him, 'Yes, Lord.' Then he touched their eyes, saying, 'According to your faith be it done to you.' And their eyes were opened." (Matthew 9:28-30 ESV)

" 'Have faith in God. Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, "Be taken up and thrown into the sea," and does not doubt it in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.' " (Mark 11:22-24 ESV)

" 'Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom [of God].' " (Luke 12:32 ESV)

"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways." (James 1:5-8 ESV)

*One caveat is that all of our prayers must be in keeping with the will of the Lord. As the Lord's brother James says, "[y]ou ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions." (James 4:3 ESV). I therefore pray that the Lord reveals his will to you and whether or not any of your prayers are not in keeping with his will for your life so that your prayers will be heard. "Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it." (John 14:13-14 ESV)
