Sad Times

I know it's not new news but it's really sad that there is such an increase in the decrease of solid understanding of scripture. I've recently learned that there are people who call themselves "believers" who think that the Ten Commandments are obselete. :sigh:

I know that people see my Messianic leanings and suddenly all they can think is that I'm teaching law. While that is such an untrue assessment I really am surprised that even the Ten Commandments are considered not for today. I'm just dumbfounded. I'm 64 years old. I was in the Penticostal Holiness church, then my family started Attending the Assembly's of God, then I've been in Vineyard Christian Fellowship and Non Denom and while the Ten Commandments were not necessarily touted in the services, they most certaintly were not cast to the ground and trampled on and taught as obselete. Some are even teaching that if you do any of the Ten Commandments then you have put yourself in bondage  I was called a Judaizer  when in fact in relationship to Pauls definition of Judaizing, it is those who are teaching you are saved, even though there is no obvious change in your heart and your actions and not even any conviction for lying, stealing, etc., who are the Judaizers. They have taken the true and pure gospel of Yeshua, perverted it and are now teaching others that if you just "say a repeated prayer" after someone, then you are saved and on your way to heaven. No wonder there is no power in the body of Christ to raise the dead, heal the sick, cause the lame to walk and the blind to see. They themselves are sick, lame, and blind.

NO, keeping the Ten Commandments do not save us. NO, they do not make us more righteous. Yeshua is our righteousness and through him and his blood that he shed on the cross for our sins is what saves us...when we repent, which means "Turning away from our wicked ways and following in God's direction. That's how it worked for EVERYONE in scripture. Not a one of them taught that the new life in Yeshua left them to live as they pleased and they could still be confident that all was well with them and God.

Sound doctrine...is there anyone in this new system of belief who even knows what sound doctrine is? It does not appear so.

My sorrow is for all the new believers who supposedly come into the faith on undound doctrine, then are led futther into deception on unsound doctrine. The only think I can encourage others to do is: on your own pray and seek the guidence and understanding of the Holy Spirit. And do your own research. Getting insight from other teachers is ok, but don't stop with them, and don't rely on them to be telling you what is correct. Do your own research. Then pray some more that the Holy Spirit will help you to rightly divide the word so that you may grow and become mature in your walk and not be resemble at all the walking dead.
