My husband and I were out looking for Monarch eggs and caterpillars on Milkweed plants on July 21st and we were blessed to see a female Monarch come by and lay a few eggs on some of the leaves. We managed to bring back one of the eggs, collecting it moments after the butterfly laid it. 
Today (July 23rd) two days after the egg was laid, it hatched. Here are the tiny new caterpillar's first baby photos.
