"Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God." (Philippians 4:6 AMPC)
God is not expecting you to worry or fret about anything in this life. Yes, there are situations that legitimately demands your concern. God is not commanding you to become irresponsible by brushing them aside. He wants you to bring them to Him in the place of prayer. He wants you to be a man or woman of prayer that completely depend on God for everything.
Every circumstance is an opportunity for you to depend on God. He is also giving you a blank cheque to ask Him for anything. The requests must of course be according to His will. You are expected to be very specific when bringing your petition to Him in prayer. When Esther appeared before the king at a time that was not lawful, he wanted to know her petition and he was willing to grant them even to half of his kingdom. Esther later revealed her petition which was granted unto her by the king. Her petition was very specific and direct. Your petition to God must be very specific and direct as well. Do not be carried away into praying general prayers.
Also, your prayers and petitions must be wrapped in thanksgiving and praises to God.
ACTION PLAN: Instead of fretting or worrying about situations of life, pray about them.
PRAYER: Father, grant me mercy to always pray to you about everything.
