Hearing, teaching and discussing God's word are all necessary and important. They help us retain His words, but most importantly obeying them is the only way to produce fruits from them. Every word of God that is being revealed to us is to be obeyed. We must receive grace to practice and live our lives by them. In Matthew 7: 24-27, Jesus likened anyone that hears and practices God's word to a wise man. It is an act of wisdom to practice God's word.
Obedience to God's word also leads to fruitfulness. Our spiritual barrenness may be as a result of disobedience to God's word. God delights in our fruitfulness, we must ask the Holy Spirit for help in our quest to obey God.
Conversely, it is foolish to disobey God's word. If we don't want to be foolish in this life and the one to come, we must place priority on obeying God's word.
ACTION PLAN: Make up your mind and receive grace to practice God's word today and always.
PRAYER: Father, grant me grace to always obey your word.
