"So that the righteous and just requirement of the Law might be fully met in us who live and move not in the ways of the flesh but in the ways of the Spirit [our lives governed not by the standards and according to the dictates of the flesh, but controlled by the Holy Spirit]." (Romans 8:4 AMPC)
At Calvary, carnality lost its hold on us, we received grace to live according to God's principles. Our lives are being governed by the dictates of the Holy Spirit. When He is absent in a life, such life is dead to God. There are many people that are alive today but in actual sense they are dead to God. The only way to please our heavenly Father is by the help of the Holy Spirit. If you are concerned about being carnal all the time, check for the presence of the Holy Spirit. Carnality is a clear indication of the lack of the Spirit of God.
Perhaps you are born again but notice that you are sometimes carnal and sometimes spiritual, check your level of yieldedness to the Holy Spirit. The more you yield the control of your to life the Him, the more spiritual you become and vice versa.
ACTION PLAN: If you desire to please God all the time, you need to accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour today, then He will give you the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will in turn teach and help you to please God. If you are already born again, but desire a consistent life of pleasing the Lord, ask the Lord to give you the grace to please Him through the Holy Spirit.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, deliver me from the carnal nature through the Cross of Jesus and grant me grace to please you all the time by the help of your Spirit.
