Piece By Piece

What is destruction? Taking something apart? Leaving it in pieces? Breaking something beyond repair?

More importantly, are you destructive? In what way? To what or whom? Yourself? Your family or friends? Coworkers or strangers?

Are you manipulative? Do you play on the emotions of people around you? Do you use their sympathy, their desire to be included, or their self-esteem to your advantage?

I (yes Greg, I am using the "i" word) :D

I have been reading a book on the subject, talking with friends, and contemplating these questions. It is an important topic. Do you know how your words and actions affect the people around you? Do you know how your words and actions affect you?

We are not called to tear ourselves or others down; to take yourself or them apart and leave yourself or them in pieces; and especially to not break beyond repair. We are not called to be destructive, but to build up, to assemble together, and to restore and repair.

Lord, God, the Alpha and Omega, You are Holy, Holy, Holy. You are excellent beyond our comprehension. I pray that You expose any thought, any feeling, and any action that causes destruction. I pray that You guide our thoughts, feelings, and actions, to bring about repair and restoration. Father, God, apply Your healing to wounds and scars so that all damage is reversed. In Your Holy Name. Amen.
