I can compare it with what my pastor said in church today. And what I did when I wanted to get baptized...I waited for the time to be "right" to feel it was the "right" time. It took me about 5-7 years to finally just say to my (then) youth pastor that I wanted to get baptized and I wanted him to do it. Anyway...if we go around waiting to the right time and for it to feel right it will never happen. Because satan will always make sure that the right time will never come...he will always give us some thought that gives us doubt.
It's the same with prayer in my opinion...if I just accept that it's hard to pray and wait for it to become easier...it never will. satan hates when we pray...it makes him shiver. he don't want that to happen so he makes sure it becomes harder...or that we have other things coming in between. So the only way to overcome it is to just start praying...
In the beginning (for me) it was a few words...and then a bit more and so on and on. Still I don't pray every day but I listen to worship and I really sing from my heart and in a way some of the songs becomes prayers as well.
