First, at work, there was my girlfriend's smile in the morning that seemed pretty bright today. And, then, my Canadian friend with the thick French accent was being an Imp and rearranging the workstation of the Bengali guy that sits next to me and laughing ( A LOT ) while he was off getting his morning coffee. They tease each other every day! They are funny.
Then, my boss, who has a smile that can crack the sky, was beaming over a few jokes. It was just so noticeable today. It seemed kind of infectious.
After getting sent home from work early AGAIN... I was a little down... to say the least, Jesus. This partial unemployment thing has me crazed. Never did this before. I am trying to trust You... it is hard! So, anyway, it was time to set down and FIND You in the rare quiet in our house. Which I did. I think we are out of touch when I don't get enough quiet ALONE with You. That's more important to me than ANYTHING !
Then... Went about researching deck stains again. Found the top recommendation...still waiting for the final touches on the deck. It passed zoning today !! YeeHaw !
And someone knocked at the door. It was a guy I hadn't seen in over 15 years ! The best smile yet ! Oh my goodness, this one was so good to see and I am thrilled to learn that he lives just down the road, now. Thanks for saving at least one from the drugs, Jesus. Thanks, so much. He used to sleep at our house, so long ago with one of the kids. He looks great and has a young family. Please bless him, Jesus.
Last, but not least came our new friend, E. I pray You anoint him with special peace and extra rest from all his labors, today when he finally gets home, for Your glory.
It was a good day at GR.
I'm especially loving Paul Scanlon's teaching series on the "Power of Inclusion" from ALM in England. I am looking forward to every installment on satellite. He's new to me and I am very glad to have found him. Bless his ministry in Your Favor, Jesus. Amen.
