Introducing My Newest Project

I am totally and completely excited about this project. It's called Flesh & Blood. The vision behind this project, if I may say so myself, is awesome. However, I think I'm getting ahead of myself...

Flesh & Blood came about as my friend K.C. Sn*w and I sat around talking about the obvious gap between Christians and, well- Those who aren't Christians. It's a dismal and bleak observation, but one which is no less accurate, that the Christian church has done a great deal to alienate the rest of the world. This sucks, because we're supposed to go into every nation and disciple them.

As we spoke, we decided that the thing that was missing from the equation was common ground... And possibly a grounding for the snobs within the Church.

A little background on K.C. and I. We met over a year ago at a Bible study. He's come to church with me a few times, and he absolutely believes in God, in Yeshua as Messiah, and in the Holy Spirit. His take on the whole ball of wax is that anyone who doesn't see the truth of their existence and continued workings is blind, or a fool.
Yet, K.C. is actually not so certain what he believes in terms of his walk. He continues to follow the "Left Handed Path" because that's what he's most comfortable with. In spite of our differences, however, we are best of friends; more like brothers, even. We respect each other, and we respect our individual beliefs.
That's not to say I don't pray for him or continue to talk about my faith with him. In fact, our mutual respect opens doors for the both of us to be completely open and honest with one another, without fear of judgment or reprisal. So it is with some sadness that we look upon our combined worlds and see the fractures and schisms.

Out of that sadness is born the concept of a project which would bring some form of common ground. The Bible states that we battle not against flesh and blood, but the powers of the air. In my personal paraphrase, we also do not battle against each other, but attitudes, mindsets, and thoughts. Every need to fight a war based upon belief is within the mind. To truly be what God has called us to be, we need to release that mindset and begin to look at everyone else as equals- not a lower form of life, or a project themselves.

Out of this came Flesh & Blood, a rap project which shines a light on the differences K.C. and I share, and the cooperation and friendship that exists in spite of those differences. A son of the Flesh and a son of the Blood, working together in complete harmony and unity to show that it is possible to do so. Such harmony is exactly where the church needs to exist in order to reach this world.

Our current Demo has a total of four tracks:

"Black Mass" - A song telling the story of a black mass in progress. The story progresses and the victim becomes more terrified. Suddenly, the event is crashed by a man who is, in the words of K.C. "[bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]ed."

"Shadows of the Damned" - A song which is featured on both this album and my own upcoming album, Graveyard Prophet. It carries the message that we ought to live among the lost as lights, instead of sitting in the chapel and letting the world go to hell.

"Women of the Serpent's Den" - Nearly everyone has been involved in some form of bad relationship, and this song points to that being the case regardless of who you are, or who you call Lord.

"Creep Reprise" - A reprisal of TLC's classic in hip-hop form, and with the Christian perspective on the issue as well.

There are several more songs in the works, and I am growing more and more excited about the scope of this project. Thanks for checking this out, and if you want any more information, feel free to PM me.

Before I take off, let me leave you with the concept cover art...
