The Bible contains the mind of God, the state of man, the way of salvation, the doom of sinners, and the happiness of believers. Its doctrines are holy, its precepts are binding, its stories are true, and its decisions are immutable. It contains Light to direct, food to support, and comfort to cheer. Read it slowly, frequently, and prayerfully. It is a mind of wealth, it is health to the soul, and a river of pleasure. Pray it in, read it through, live it out, and pass it on.
Father in Heaven, through Your Word, and through Your Faithfulness to Your people, You bring comfort to our hearts. You give us strength and help us to carry on. It's Your Word that guides us, comforts us, and gives us hope. Thank you, O LORD, wash away my burdens. You know our situations and our needs before we know. LORD, I cannot make it without you. God's will be done always. In Jesus' name. Amen.
