I just don't know....

Then we have John 9:1-5 As He went along he saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked Him, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or His parents, that he was born blind?" "Neither this man nor his parents sinned" said Jesus, "but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life. As long aws it is day, we must do the work of Him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work. While I am in the world I am the light of the world."

Then Jesus spit in the dirt, made mud, put it on the guys eyes, told the man to go wash his eyes and when he did as told he was no longer blind.

So, is Jesus saying the guy was sick for the sole purpose of God getting glory? Was it the sickness that brought God glory or the healing?

I don't see that Jesus says that God made the man blind. I don't see any glory coming to God through the blindness but through the guys eyes being opened. After he was healed the guy caused quite a stir in the temple.

Again, I don't think that God does not use those of us who are sick, 'cause He does. However, I don't see that it's the sickness that is being used but the what God is doing in the individual seperately from their sickness.

According to Deut 27, starting at verse 15, sickness is a curse. Thats why the disciples asked the question in John 9 about "who sinned".

So why are the righteous sick? It does not make sense to me that sickness is part of the curse sent on those who do not obey. Yet Paul said we are set free from the law of sin and death. One of the laws of sin and death was sickness. So if as believers we are free from that curse why are some of us still sick? Why are the righteous enduring curses? What is keeping the "work of God from being displayed (as with the blind man) in the lives of the righteous who are experiencing sickness?

God says He's the same yesterday, today, and forever. He says He's not a man that He should change.

I know many who are healed. I've witnessed healings. I myself have been healed. Yet there are still those who just never seem to taste their healing while here on earth. Why?

I could give a pat answer but in all honesty I'm not so sure it would be what Jesus would say.

I don't know. I just don't know.

I do know though that He is my Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, my Everlasting Father and my Prince of Peace. He is my Rock and my Salvation. He is my Healer.

I depend totally on Him for everything...my salvation and my health...mentally, physically, and spiritually. All that I am and all that I will be. He is faithful!
