As a kid, I wasn't that good in division. For me, it takes practice and study to master division. Now, I used that one of the order of operations in grocery shopping. For example, Jewel-Osco have yogurts on sale for 5/$3.00. So, I divide that by the total price you can get for that amount stock. $3.00/5=$0.60. So, each yogurt will cost $0.60 each.
Before I start using this method, I used to use addition as one of the operations. I'd try to add the amount stock into the total price of I'll get for buying that. This method was difficult, and take me even longer to figure out how much does it costs for one. So, it best to use division instead of addition doing grocery shopping.
