  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

How To Get Everything Done

How to Get Everything Done.jpg

Our lives can sometimes be overwhelming. Often, we find ourselves juggling what seems like more than we can handle. When there are physical tasks in front of us that need to be completed we are to follow in the footsteps of Jesus and take on a true servant’s spirit. Dependability and service are central to the character of a Christian. We are to work as though working for the Lord.

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” Colossians 3:23 (NIV)

Indeed, this understanding extends to everything we do. Christians should always be motivated by their desire to glorify God. When we let go of the desire to please ourselves and focus on pleasing others our spiritual strength is increased.

“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31 (NIV)

Of course, physical tasks are not to totality of what occupies our time. We are also burdened with emotional and spiritual dilemmas that are definitely part of everything that needs to get done. In order to stay on track we need to remain connected to the wisdom of God and avoid the enemy’s distractions. When we seek the will of God in all that we do our hearts our protected by his ever present hand.

“Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.” Ephesians 5:15-17 (NIV)

Everything in life can get done when we rest in the awesome empowering presence of God in all aspects of our life. God has not left you alone. God is with you right now. Everything that needs to get done is in his power to accomplish exactly as it should be.

“I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13 (NIV)

Our expectations may not end up being the final outcome. That doesn’t matter. What matters is that the final outcome ends up being the will of God.

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10 (NIV)
