Hosea was a prophet who was asked to marry a prostitute to illustrate how God's union with Israel has been progressing over the years. Sometimes the way our lives progress can be a Hosea like prophecy.
In my life I notice that I continue to seek the answers for questions related to the faith like a newborn Christian. I find an answer, and am not satisfied and keep seeking. Each answer becomes a question to live in that makes a good point.
In a likewise fashion, there are many denominations that all make a good point, but remain a question to live in for each member since the progression does not lead to a unity of the faith.
In this, I see God illustrating to me, why the church is divided, and why they will not come together as when a Hen calls all her chicks. I think to explain this, every born again believer would need experience a similar journey to accumulate collectively the knowledge that is required for the unity of the faith.
In any case, I'll keep believing in Jesus, and keep seeking ... probably until the end ... as this situation the church is in ... doesn't seem likely to change any time soon.
And even so, come Lord Jesus.
