In the book of Numbers, chapter 9 Adonai is telling Moses the people are to celebrate the Passover every year on the 14th day of the first month which is Nissan, and the children of Israel did so.
However, a group of men approached Moses and told him tha since they had been in contact with a dead body they had not been allowed to participate in the celebration. They said to him, "We were kept from the celebration because of our contact with a dead body (they were probably the ones who were carrying the bones of Joseph), why should we be kept back from giving an offering to the Lord for the appointment He has made with the children of Israel?
Moses apparently thought it was a good question and told the men to wait while he went and discussed it with God. The Lords response was that He told Moses to tell all the people that in the event that if for some reason they became ritually unclean and had no time to purify themselves before the time appointed that for them, they could celebrate the Passover the next month on Lyar 14. This special time would also apply to any who were traveling and unable to get back to their home to prepare for Nissan 14.
Wow, God not only considered the question, but He made a whole other day they could participate so they would not miss out.
This is quite the contrast from when the children of Israel mumbled and complained and asked Moses if God had brought them out to the desert to die? They were complaining and attacking Moses.
We have a God who is willing to listen to an honest question. The men wanted to serve God in celebrating Passover too. The mob of complainers though were not honestly asking they just became accusers.
It makes me consider more on how I approach God and at the reason, I sometimes might get silence from God, instead of an accommodating answer. We can ask Him anything, He loves it.
