Following on from my blog yesterday, a piece came across my desk which contained these words....
"With no God over the state, the state then becomes not the defender of liberty but the definer of liberty. You have no freedoms except those bestowed by the state, and those freedoms are defined entirely by the various branches of government. There is no inherent parental authority. There is no inherent right to life. There is only the justice the state gives according to the standards the state dictates."
How true this is and how much are we seeing this happening today, especially in western democracy. One reads about the "thought police" and it is so true. You can pen a piece and post it on your facebook or twitter and next thing you know you are being censored for saying what you did because someone was offended by you penning your thoughts about a subject.
For your interest, Mark (S)uckerburg of Facebook fame employs 2,000 people to censor comments that he doesn't like. They are usually comments that do not speak glowingly of homosexuality. Another demigod who is a definer of liberty.
You can even fall foul of a Christian forum for saying what is on your heart because it does not conform to their orthodoxy. In some cases, the forum is the definer of truth, not the defender of truth as is the government more and more today.
A classical example is one I penned yesterday when I said your support for male/female marriage can land you in all sorts of trouble as the government has decided that male/female marriage is no longer the accepted norm. In other words, they have become the definer of what is normal.
I have just read four books penned by Tim LaHaye on the last days. I know that they are fiction and it may or may not happen as depicted but one can see the possibility of it happening as he describes, bearing in mind that we are being taken over by information technology that is getting more intrusive by the day.
The final book has the antichrist setting up a global information system that can control the minds of everyone on the planet so you can only think what he wants you to think. The only people who escape the mind control are those who refuse to have the mark of the beast. Whatever does happen, the books make for a very good read.
I have studied communism as I have a degree in sociology and in one book I read about the system, people were being thrown into jail because they cracked a joke in private about Stalin. Except that Stalin had an army of spies to spy on their neighbours and report such incidents.
Close to home with every parent is the safe school's curriculum or some other fancy name that is being used. This is a classic example of mind control because one, parents are not allowed to remove their child from the lessons. Two, it is a cultural Marxist attempt to indoctrinate children to their way of thinking. Three, it intends to normalise homosexuality. Four, it wants those that are not homosexual to feel bad about not being homosexual.
