The great worm said, "I hear and know what is said, it comes into my mind, and I know."
Deseradar responded, "You can? We have met no others who could hear and know what is said with their mind."
Fisepel said, "But we have. Those tiny creatures we each have in an ear are doing that, and we hear and understand through them." She said to the creature, "What are you? We have seen earthworms but while you are kind of like those you are much larger, and you seem to have eyes, and you have ability to speak!"
That strange one said, "I am from far below, where the earthworms do not go, where rock is below this soft earth over it, and I make my tunnels there. But it became so wet that I looked for food up here where it comes when that happens.'
Ingahuel said, "So this is an underearthworm!"
Fisepel asked, "Are there more ones like you?"
"There are some, at least. My mother was one. And there was one who was my mate. I saw one far along a tunnel once, that I did not meet with."
Deseradar asked, "And now that you are here, would you stay here?"
"This food I eat does not stay up here but drops deeper, when it does I go deeper to get it."
Deseradar said, "We do not know what you eat."
"I can't see it and I do not think you can. But I feel it when I swallow it, moving inside me. So I know when I get any of that food."
Deseradar said, "That means when it becomes drier you will tunnel below, like earthworms do."
Hillariah had come out, also barefoot, and seeing them came carefully that way, seeing then they were speaking to this huge worm. She said, "This creature also speaks?"
The son there, Frieheron, said to her, "It is an underearthworm, from very deep in the earth, and it will not stay here."
Hillariah said, "Yahweh will know about this. I will ask for answers that I would not get here, about this."
