...I hate to say I called this back in March. But I called it! Farve wants to come back to play and he really doesn't want to do it in Green Bay - and quite frankly I can't say that I blame him.
Before he announced his retirement he tried to talk to the Green Bay management to get some better receivers up there - and when it became apparant that wasn't going to happen Farve announced his retirment.
Well now that he wants back - Green Bay won't release him to play for another team - and that is simply something I don't understand. Favre goes back to play in Green Bay he is going to get clobbered - that's the bottom line. He's got no protection on his line and Green Bay has to know this. Why not let the guy go and play for a team that has got some good receivers and a good line. Favre put his time in at Green Bay - got them a super bowl win - almost got them there last year. I think he deserves another year or two on a team that can protect him better.
Granted Favre would be demoted to back-up in Green Bay and the safest place for him will be on the side-line - but this old horse will simply not be relagated to the roll of back-up. I think after this all pans out and Green Bay doesn't release him that we won't see Favre up in Green Bay this year. The guy should just take the year off and try to come back in the Fall of 2009.
