[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]A pastor and his wife came to the front of the church to receive ministry from a man of God. The prophet spoke first to the husband, revealing his past and gave insights into his future. He then turned to the pastor's wife. As he spoke of her past, suddenly he paused, listening. Finally he spoke,"There was a very serious sin in your past." The woman, with her worst fear about to be fulfilled, turned limp. The congregation, too, hushed. The prophet continued, "And I asked the Lord, 'What was this sin that she committed?' And the Lord answered, 'I do not remember.'"
How great is our Father's mercy! The Lord had been faithful to His covenant promise: "Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more" (Heb. 10:17). Tormented by her failure, she daily begged God for healing, yet she could not accept His forgiveness. Christ had removed her sins "as far as the east is from the west" (Ps. 103:12). From everywhere but the prison of her own mind, her sin had been removed. And now, in His great mercy, God cleansed her mind as well.
