Well, it's only been a month now but I'm quickly becoming a raw food advocate
The first raw meal I had was in the evening. I started attending a class at a friends house where she taught about eating raw. Right in front of us she created these wonderful dishes with raw food using just a blender. There were 5 of us in the class when it started and each of us felt the food was quite tasty. In the event that it "needs something" we can add honey or some fruit to make it sweeter. I was surprised at how wonderful everything tasted.
After the meal I went home and did not feel hungry the rest of the evening. I went to bed and slept through the night (I had not done that in some time). And, I was alert the whole day.
I ate raw except for one meal but when I went to sleep that night, again, I slept through the night.
It was about a week into the diet when I noticed that my ankles and feet were no longer swollen. From sitting all day driving they would be almost doubled in size.
Then, I noticed that I was not longer waking and having to hobble around because my body hurt. I was waking alert and not groggy and unable to think until after I had some coffee.
Then I noticed that the numbness I had been having in my toes has decreased substantially. I have not had even one headache (I usually would awaken every morning with one), and I've not been depressed.
I've also lost 21 lbs.
I'm not going hungry. I eat as much as I want of fruit, veggies, nuts, grains, and herbs. I'm feeling more energetic.
I'm able to make most everything with a blender and my little chopper. I was able to find a good used dehydrator on Amazon for a good price and I have been experimenting with making my own crackers and cookies.
I thought I would never be able to give up meat but now I'm wondering what took me so long.
