The tendency to always want to please others is very frustrating. Why? Human beings can never be satisfied with anything you do. Humanity is like little children, they can never be satisfied with anything. Their desires are fleeting. They constantly changes. This does not mean that you should become irresponsible, take your responsibilities seriously but never fall into the confusion of wanting to pleasing humanity. Rather, discover God's purpose for your life and pursue it with all your vigour.
As described in our text, one of the things Jesus achieved for us on the Cross is freedom from the grip of the world system's expectations of us and vice versa.
If we fail to take a stand for Christ, we will be squeezed into the little patterns that the world dictates.

ACTION PLAN: In how many ways have we been squeezed into the little patterns of the world? We need to repent and take a stand for Christ.
PRAYER: Jesus keep me near the Cross. Deliver me from the tendencies to please humanity at the expense of pleasing You.
