Individuals or Groups Dominated by the Forces of Darkness Want to Suppress Truth
“For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.”

Pastors should encourage church members to examine scripture to verify truth and trust that God will confirm His own ways. Cults do not even give you the possibility of questioning (and "easily answering" challenges) to their claims.
Cults Change or "Rightly Divide" the Scripture
They “rightly divide” (change) hundreds of scriptures in attempt to obscure this and other truths; but these truths are evident throughout scripture. When one understands that Jesus is the Word of God incarnate, then all of God’s ability present in His Word is present in Jesus.
The Spirit of God (Holy Spirit) is a person who speaks, has a will, and has all the emotions of a human being, (Humans are created in the image and likeness of God. He is God eternal and works on the Earth today.
He is not “the force”, but He is another comforter like Jesus was when He was on the Earth.
They pick up on this term found in scripture to excuse changing the truth into something God will not confirm. The Holy Spirit confirms with Word and brings life that demonic spirits cannot duplicate. These spirits do minister something and it is this "reality" that causs them to believe in what they are following. It does not fulfill.
