Yes, I'm adding new characters and no Charlie is not a real character. he's just an OC.
Within minutes Claudia was at the hotel the man had mentioned. Above the door was a neon sign that read "Lotus Hotel". Claudia sighed and walked in. The inside was decorated with poker cards on tables, poker chips on most tables and some on the floor and poker sets on display on the walls. She walked over to the counter and said "I need a room for the night."
The woman at the desk had long blonde hair with bright pink highlights smiled and said "That'll be fifty dollars."
Claudia pulled out the wallet and handed her one of the hundreds. She stood there a moment while the woman got her change and room key. "So are you just passing through New New York?" the woman asked Claudia in a way to cheery voice.
Claudia shrugged. "Don't know. I do a lot of traveling, never know where I'll stay."
The woman smiled and handed Claudia the change and room key. "Well it's good to have you here."
Claudia nodded and walked off. She looked at the key to see she's in room number 2012. She laughed at the irony then froze in front of the elevator. 2012? That's a really tall building. She shook the fear away. "Come on Claudia, you've lived through whole wars you can stand staying on the top floor."
When she got on the elevator and saw the building had 50 floors she laughed nervously. "Wow, this is one big hotel." Moments later the doors opened on the 20th floor. She stepped out of the elevator and followed the signs to her room.
She slid the key through the lock and opened the door. Inside the room was decorated like the rest of the place, poker themed. Wouldn't be surprised if they start playing Poker Face. she thought to herself. She laid down on the bed and let her thoughts wander.
It's May 18th 2099, everything is made of glass and some kid's probably gonna be hunting me down because I'm special for something. Great. She sighed and reached into the pocket of her jacket. For some reason she's wearing the same leather jacket, teal tube top, blue jeans and converse she was wearing the day she went into a coma. She pulled out a few pictures, folded up together. One was of a red head boy, about sixteen years old. He was smiling at something, his freckles sprinkled over his cheeks. The second of a black haired boy, around the same age, playing basketball. He was smiling at the camera, and still made the shot. The third, and last one was of a girl with blonde hair and blue eyes. Floating just above her hand was a flame.
Claudia sighed. "If only ya'll were here." she said to herself, thinking back to those moments. The first one was with the red head, Claudia had just shoved him down a water slide and he got back at her by shoving her in the pool. She remember yelling out "Sean you get your backside back here!" when he ran away after pushing her. She knows that now she has no way to know what happened to him. After that day he left on a mission and never came back. That was the last time she ever saw the first man she ever loved.
The second memory was of Adam, her boy friend showing off his basketball skills to both her and his friends. She remembers Susan running over to him after he made the shot without looking. Claudia can tell he's acting when he says he's so glad Susan's happy but she knows that Adam never really liked Susan.
The last one, the only girl, was a great friend. At first they butt heads however after months of knowing each other Claudia grew to trust Amy-Jenn and started treating her as an equal. Soon the two girls did everything together. After Pyro and Amy-Jenn went separate ways Claudia had to pick who's side she was on and she chose Amy-Jenn. Partners in crime. That's exactly what they were.
Claudia groaned when she heard a knock at the door. "If that's housecleaning than come back later."
She heard a soft laugh before the Scottish accent from earlier hit her ears. "I'm not any house cleanin' lassie."
Claudia sighed and walked over to the door. She opened it slightly and looked at him, his hair fell in his face, hiding his white eyes. He smiled at her. "Good to see you again."
Claudia frowned and grabbed his hair, shoving it out of his face. "How can you see me from behind your hair?" He smiled when Claudia made the mistake of letting her hand touch his face. He could see the look of adoration come over her face. She dropped his hair and put her hand on his cheek. "Forget what I was saying. Your hair looks absolutely perfect." she said, smiling like a fool in love.
Charlie laughed. "I guess Harry didn't warn you not to touch me." he said as Claudia kissed him. He laughed as she pulled him into the room and shut the door. He waved his finger at her. "Naughty naughty."
Claudia smiled. "You have no idea." she said, clenching her hands and shoving Charlie against a wall with her powers.
Charlie groaned slightly. "How?" was all he could manage to say.
Claudia laughed, "Kid, what's your name, Charlie? That's what the guy at the newspaper stand said."
He nodded. "Yep! Charlie, that's me!" he laughed slightly, keeping a nervous smile on his face. "That guy has a name you know! It's Harry. Everyone knows him. Everyone knows everyone!" he said forcefully. He jerked a couple times, trying to free himself of Claudia's hold. "Listen to me!" he seethed. "I know you think that this is just the future but some freaky lizard man has unleashed a toxin in the water. It makes everyone happy!"
Claudia looked at him suspiciously. "Happy's a bad thing?" she asked, unconvinced that there was anything wrong.
Charlie groaned and hit his head on the wall several times. "When its in the form of a toxin yes! Listen, we need you! Please!"
There's a certain desperation in his voice, it's exactly like Sean when he asked not to go on that last mission, Adam when he asked for Susan to stay at the school or Amy-Jenn for Claudia's loyalty. She sighed and asked. "Who's we?"
Charlie could hear the obvious defeat in her voice and soften his tone. "My brother Miguel and I are trying to find anyone who can help. We thought you might be able to since you're older than the other coma patients."
"Miguel?" she questioned, letting him move away from the wall.
He nodded, rubbing his wrists. "Miguel O'Hara. I doubt the name means anything to you but nowdays he's famous."
Claudia gave him a confused look as she walked over and sat down on the bed. "Why?"
Charlie sighed. "He's the modern day Spiderman."
Claudia laughed, "Spiderman? You're kidding me."
Charlie shook his head. "Nope. I don't expect you to believe that until you meet him."
Claudia rolled her eyes. "Right," she stood and walked over to the door. She opened it and said "Well if you decide to start telling the truth then maybe I'll come with you."
Charlie grabbed her by the collar and shoved her into the wall. "I'm not joking." He seethed at her. "This is real. We need to be ready. I know that you've seen things I probably wouldn't believe so can you please just believe me?"
There was that begging tone again. That's her downfall. Claudia sighed. "Fine, I'll see what I can do to help."
Charlie released her and smiled slightly. "Thanks now let's go." he starts to walk out the door then pauses. "I never did get your name."
Claudia laughed as she walked out, shutting the door behind her. "Name's Claudia Mittchel."
YaY!!! It was longer!! haha, anyways, Charlie's got a hypnosis charm type thing and Claudia understood that. Yes there really is a Spiderman in the year 2099 named Miguel O'Hara. It kills me cause Miguel is a Spanish name and O'Hara is Irish but oh well.
