When I took my first semester in college the professors will tell us to go on the school website to look at the syllabus, give us a syllabus to take home and read, and tell us to study on the first weeks of college to teach me how to be successful and get good grades in all of my classes. The syllabus suppose to give us sources to study for our homework and assignments to get good grades so we can know how to do the assignments/homework. I must view the syllabus to check my grades, to download some sources to study for certain classes.
But, I didn't study all the time and on time because I don't think about studying when I first get home from school until later. Since I didn't always study on time I had to take some tests and exams I wasn't ready for because I didn't study for them. The Exams have questions that you can't get the correct answers on if you don't study enough or when you suppose to.
So, I had failed on the Exam/Final-Exam because I didn't study much.
The professor encourages us to view the syllabus and study and expect that from all of his/her students which we suppose to do in college in order to be successful and get good grades. We also have to do our assignments and homework on time to get good grades on them that affect our overall grade.
I learned that if I failed most of my assignments/homework or don't do them then I will failed the class and get a bad grade and have to retake the same courses over again and I be successful and get good grades.
