This modern slogan that seems to have it's origins with the Jesus Freaks of the early 1970s, and the entire Jesus movement that had a profound effect in certain areas of Evangelical Christianity, as well as with certain full Gospel groups of the Charismatic and Pentecostal movement, like the founding of certain denominations like the Vineyard, Calvary Chapel, and other Christian parachurch groups like Teen Challenge.
