  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Awesome Love

Awesome Love.jpg

Pray with me this understanding of our God:

The ultimate source of love is God. Our God is indeed an endless reservoir of overwhelming love. The attributes of God include his mercy, graciousness, patience, truth and never-ending love.

“But You, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness and truth.” Psalm 86:15 (NASB)

Experiencing God’s mercy exceeds all the blessings this life can provide. Though undeserving, we are continuously loved and supported by our awesome God.

“Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips will praise You.” Psalm 63:3 (NASB)

God’s awesome love was profoundly demonstrated when He sent His Son to die on our behalf. Even though we were lost in our transgressions, God’s love never left our side.

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 (NASB)

God, in His perfection loves us because of His great love not because of anything we have done. God’s great love is epitomized by his willingness to save believers through His grace.

“But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ.” Ephesians 2:4-5 (NASB)

No matter how many times we stumble, God is there to wrap His loving arms around us and carry us forward into a new day.

“The Lord’s lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23 (NASB)

Thank you Lord for your awesome love! Give us power through your Holy Spirit to share your love with all those around us. Father God, we worship and adore you and seek nothing more than your will in our life. Fill our hearts with your love and our minds with your wisdom.

We offer this prayer in the Holy name of Jesus.

Amen
