This entry looks at some potential dominoes that could be nearing for the world. I recently saw a prophecy from Elijah's list (Elijahlist.com) that suggested dominoes will be falling while another from their archives (Sept 2023) also suggested to "batten down the hatches." It is not just these two words given that inspire me, but the Holy Spirit is giving witness to many that things are about to change to quite a few people. It is possible that the major warnings are a bit more distant in time, but it is possible too that things are going to start to occur much earlier than anyone thinks.
First, as to wars, there likely is going to be a broadening of war in two ways. The current conflicts, Russia and Ukraine, and Israel and Hamas will likely become more and more violent. Secondly, the chance for additional conflicts loom. It is as if the hegemonic world order of the USA as leader is being challenged. Why? Because the USA is politically weak and divided. Not only do we have an absence of leadership, but the in-fighting is substantial that we do not even have a Speaker of the House presently. In other words, our eye is off the ball and into games being played for personal gain with a level of corruption that is very high if not unparalleled with both parties.
The broken window theory suggests that when neighborhoods are in disarray, that criminals take their cues from that and commit more crimes. I think this can be applied today for international relations. So many things are broken. China and Tiawan, China and disputed islands, (Japan Philippines, Vietnam). China's relationship with Russia, its sanctions with the USA. the Koreas, Serbia and Kosovo, the Middle East. Africa and South America too have some hotspots but this is nothing really new though the exact regions shift over the years in various African countries. Combined, it seems the most opportune time in history to challenge the USA or the system that has been put in place to try and prevent conflicts. The perfect storm would be more conflicts erupting at once. It should not go unnoticed that these nations and a few others are much more unified in their opposition to the West and have had top leaders meeting far more than usual. Escalation is showing as China and Russia jointly paraded their ships together in international waters near Alaska. Biden and the USA resolve to do that much seem weak, thus, it would seem that the time to push forward a conflict is optimal at least until the next election for any nation with military aspirations.
Such a conflict could even include nuclear weapons. Risks, are out there as it seems far more dangerous now than even during the Cuban Missile Crisis. One can argue that if Israel was caught off guard, it is possible too that the USA and other nations could have intelligence failures too. In other words, the geo-political risks are way underestimated. It is not a Red Dawn scenario, but there are possibilities where any nation's citizens could wake up to a different world. This includes Biden being removed from the Presidency due to health.
Another thing you may take from this post is that events are far more inter-related than you think. Dominoes can fall and cascade. I will admit that perhaps I am a bit alarmist. I suggested possible hyper-inflation during covid in a blog here. Inflation was a problem but thankfully not as bad as it could have been, though it too still could move into that for certain countries. Economics too does sometimes drive wars. China is losing its appeal to many, some are saying it will stagnate much like Japan did in the 1990s, which was labelled their lost decade. Chinese trade with the West is down, their trade with Russia is way up. There simply are too many disagreements, poor national economic policies (high debts among all major nations) and even natural disasters to derail our current lifestyle.
In some ways this can be good. Distress can bring character. It can get our focus back on God. It can usher in renewal/revival and help expand the kingdom. It can expose people, corporations and even nations that are corrupt and disingenuous.
So why the fear mongering? God has our backs right? Yes, of course, but it is good to be prepared; to understand that even a Westerner can have their world turned upside down in times like these. We thus need to be sober, to be prayerful, to have plans. It is interesting that many Americans are seeking second passports or dual citizenship. At the time I was at a church in the Midwest just off I-35. In a few months I moved to Dallas, next Waco and finally Laredo. (All diredtly south of each other, all on I-35. It gave highly specific meaning to the guidance "Go south." Each stop I advanced in salary, position and ministry.
