(I originally posted this in Dec. '07, in my old blog here at CF and it is just as valid today)
I believe this Word from the Prophet Amos could just as easily be applied to a time in the not too distant future, regarding the Church (as originally this message was to the Israelites).
There is no doubt we have embarked on one of the most prevalent times of Apostasy the earth has seen since the days of Noah. Which it is written would have to occur before Christ returns to remove the Church. Let whoever has ears to hear, hear this warning from God's Prophet Amos and seek the Lord early, while He is yet to be found, in Jesus name!
Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD: And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it. In that day shall the fair virgins and young men faint for thirst. Amos 8:11-13
