One of the awesome things about what happens in us when we have put our faith and trust in Yeshua is that EVERYTHING within us becomes new. 2 Cor 5:17 says " 17 Therefore if anyone is in Messiah, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." And, in Lam 3:23 we are told, "Because of the mercies of Adonai we will not be consumed, for His compassions never fail. 23 They are new every morning! Great is Your faithfulness. We're like brand new people. We may stiil have the same ailments, but whent we repent it all starts out new again.
I think sometimes this is a difficult thing for us to grasp. Throughout the day the good choices we make encourage us and add a bounce to our step. Then the bad choices we make add weight to our step and we become discouraged and think that we can't make it, that we can't live for God the way He calls us to and the way we want to. It's right in those moments though that we can speak His name and call out to Him for help and immediately He's there. He's there giving us his strength and his ability to go on. He never gives up on us. Running to Him in our need (we always need Him), allowing Him to clean us up, turning away from what has caused us to fall and starting anew is only something that Yeshua offers. The world certaintly does not offer it. They want to pound you with it for your entire life. But with God, it is all made anew.
What awesome promises from God. No matter what happened yesterday, today is new. His mercies are new, and I am new. Every morning, with Yeshua, I can start out fresh again.
A new dawn, a new day, a new life.
