  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hebrews 12:1-2 (NKJV) 12 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith...

Every church movement, every local church, has their challenges. Left to purely human reasoning, there are things that can feel restricting, too slow to bloom to fruit—and dare we say it (?), too slow to conform to our expectations...however close our impatient convictions might accurately...

Therefore I did not even think myself worthy to come to You. But say the word, and my servant will be healed (from Luke 7:7 NKJV, bold is mine) There are a string of Bible verses, here, that I mention or allude to...for a short Gospel song. I use ditties like this to hum by during the day...

In Luke Chapter 4 (bold is mine, as well as wording within brackets. NKJV): 16 So He [Messiah Jesus] came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read. 17 And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah...
In my last blog post, "Christ - The Bridge to Life", we see the parallels between Deuteronomy 30:14,19 and Romans 8:8-10, sanctification and confession unto salvation emphasized, respectively. Concerning the Deuteronomy passage, we see the beginning of a mandate that finds a full expression in...

Charged “to tell no one”,* Impossible as healings: holy dissonance. Made well by this trust, Now asked to arrest our lips? Oh, mute dilemma! So, captured by love, He told all to all with “Hey! “Guess what Jesus said? “He said, ‘Be made clean.’” When asked “So He heals lepers?”, The healed one...

Too often, a woeful picture is drawn that depicts the followers of Messiah Jesus as fearful and dejected on that Pentecost day, before the Holy Spirit fell on them, as had been prophesied by Joel. The biblical narrative shows a different demeanor, one of joy—with a hope that was fulfilled...

One way to appreciate the “Great Commission”, is to see what the Good News is, initially through the eyes of the unconverted. Ready? It is too good to be true. Whether heard from the lips of a Christian, seen as the snippet of a Bible verse on a church marquee, or read in a novel quoting...

What the serpent (Satan) said to Eve in the Garden of Eden: 2 The woman said to the serpent, "We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, 3 but God did say, 'You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.' " 4 "You will...
That burning question, “Are we a blessing to God?”, Goes unasked inside. We know God is good. That demonstration is clear; We ever bless Him. Would we bless the Lord If He did not enjoy this And feel our blessing? Some say, “God needs not!” Then why, before time, His call? Giving, He receives.

In response to what I'd have to describe as a person locked in on prospering materially as a Christian (although to be fair, spiritually as well), I pointed out 1 Timothy 6:8 (bolded here): 6 Now godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is...
