Notes: Revelation Chapters 6 To 22 (overview Cont'd) To Revelation 6:11

(Re: Some *Details of Revelation chapters 6 to 22)

The Tribulation of Revelation chapters 6 to 18 and Matthew 24, which Jesus Christ will return immediately after (Matthew 24:29-31, Revelation 19:7 to 20:6), has not started yet. For it will begin with a horrible war, which, with its aftermath of famines and epidemics, will end up killing one-fourth of the world (Revelation 6:4-8). The "great sword" of this war (Revelation 6:4) could be Israel's nuclear weapons. After this war there will be a terrible series of natural disasters historically unprecedented in their magnitude, such as a gigantic volcanic eruption (Revelation 6:12-14), possibly of the Yellowstone Caldera, and then the collapse into the ocean of another erupting volcano (Revelation 8:8-9), possibly one of the Canary Islands, the collapse of which could create a huge tsunami which could destroy the eastern seaboard of the U.S.

If such a tsunami occurs, it could also cause a string of awful, Fukushima-type, nuclear-meltdown radiation disasters in the nuclear power plants and their nuclear-waste storage facilities all along the eastern seaboard of the U.S. (These facilities, all together, are holding tens of thousands of tons of highly-radioactive nuclear waste. Nuclear power was one of the worst ideas ever, as Germany has now wisely realized.) Also, if the tsunami breaks open the germ-containment structures on Plum Island, just off the coast of Connecticut, especially-deadly viruses and bacteria could be washed inland and spread across the U.S. and Canada as they infect animals and people.

After the volcanic activity and possible tsunami, a comet will strike the earth (Revelation 8:10-11), possibly in the U.S. and Canadian Great Lakes region. As the comet falls from the sky, it will look like a great star or like a burning lamp in the sky (Revelation 8:10). It will strike a region of the earth which contains one-third of the world's fresh surface water (Revelation 8:10b); and it will contain some poisonous element which will poison that water so that many who drink from it will die (Revelation 8:11b).

Sometime after that, weird locust-like beings will swarm up from the Bottomless Pit of the earth to torment mankind with excruciating stings for five months (Revelation 9:2-10). The world could see them as "aliens" who had been hibernating for thousands of years in a cavern deep underground. The locust-like beings will not kill anyone, but they will make those they sting want to die, the pain will be so bad (Revelation 9:5-6).

After that, an army of 200 million weird horse-like beings and their (possibly unclean spirit) riders will come upon the earth (Revelation 9:16-19). If they descend from the sky in spaceships, the world could see them as "aliens". But they and the future Antichrist (the individual-man aspect of Revelation's "beast") could (falsely) say that they are YHWH God's main army. In fact, they could be loyal to Lucifer (Satan, the dragon, Revelation 12:9). The four fallen angels now bound at the Euphrates who will lead this army (Revelation 9:14-16) could employ it to make mankind completely desperate before its takeover by Lucifer and the Antichrist mid-tribulation (Revelation 12:9 to 13:18). For when this army starts killing one-third of mankind (Revelation 9:16-19), then could also begin one of the biggest deceptions ever wrought upon humanity. For the Antichrist -- who by that time could have managed to have been elected as the President of a Mediterranean Union formed by the joining of the European Union with an Arab Union stretching from Oman to Morocco -- could announce to the world that he has sent a mental distress call to (what he could call) "My Father, our Lord Lucifer, to come with his legions of angels and rescue mankind from this murderous army of YHWH".

(And all of this will be part of only the first half of the future Tribulation of Revelation chapters 6 to 18 and Matthew 24.)

It is at this point that Lucifer and his fallen angels could be cast down out of heaven to the earth permanently, after losing a mid-tribulation war in heaven (Revelation 12:7-9). But instead of coming down as a defeated force, they could descend for all the world to see in gigantic, magnificent golden spaceships onto the "Champ de Mars", Mars being the same as Marduk the dragon, the chief god of ancient Babylon. (The "Champ de Mars" is the large open area in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris.) After landing there, Lucifer, a literal, seven-headed, red dragon (Revelation 12:3,9), could emerge in great splendor and command his angels to capture the army of 200 million weird horse-like beings and their (possibly unclean spirit) riders, who could then pretend to defect from serving YHWH to serving Lucifer. Lucifer could then confirm that he came to rescue mankind because the Antichrist, who he could say is his only-begotten Son, called upon him (like in an Antichrist counterfeit of Matthew 26:53). Lucifer and the Antichrist could then be received wholeheartedly by the world as the saviors of mankind. And the world could be left thinking (mistakenly) that Lucifer and his angels were more powerful than even YHWH's main army.

Lucifer and the Antichrist, along with the Antichrist's miracle-working False Prophet, will then deceive the world into actually worshipping Lucifer and the Antichrist, and a speaking (possibly an android) image of the Antichrist (Revelation 13:4-16, Revelation 19:20; 2 Thessalonians 2:4, Daniel 11:36). And everyone will be made to receive a (possibly scarification) mark of the Antichrist on either their right hand or forehead, consisting of either the Antichrist's name or some representation of the gematrial number of his name (666) (Revelation 13:16-18). After Lucifer and the Antichrist have ruled the world for 3.5 literal years (Revelation 13:4-18), YHWH will send seven vials of wrath against the world (Revelation 16).

Near the end of these seven vials, unclean spirits like frogs will come out of the mouths of Lucifer, the Antichrist and the False Prophet (Revelation 16:13). And these unclean spirits like frogs will go forth and perform amazing miracles to convince the world's armies to gather together at Armageddon (Har Megiddo: Mount Megiddo in northern Israel) (Revelation 16:16) to battle against YHWH Himself (Revelation 16:14, Revelation 19:19). After gathering together at Armageddon as a staging area, the world's armies will travel south and pillage Jerusalem, right before Jesus Christ (who is YHWH: John 10:30) returns from heaven and defeats them completely (Revelation 19:11 to 20:6, Zechariah 14:2-21).

When Jesus Christ returns, immediately after the future Tribulation of Revelation chapters 6 to 18 and Matthew 24 (Revelation 19:7-21, Matthew 24:29-31), He will descend physically from heaven on a white horse (Revelation 19:7-21; 1 Thessalonians 4:16, Zechariah 14:3-4, Acts 1:11-12), with all of the holy angels (Matthew 25:31; 2 Thessalonians 1:7), for all of the world to see (Matthew 24:27,30, Revelation 1:7). Then the Church (of all times) will be physically resurrected (if dead) or changed (if alive) into immortal physical bodies (1 Corinthians 15:21-23,51-53; 1 Thessalonians 4:16, Revelation 20:4-6) and caught up together/gathered together (raptured) (Matthew 24:31; 2 Thessalonians 2:1) as high as the clouds of the sky to hold a meeting in the air with Jesus (1 Thessalonians 4:17).

At that meeting, Jesus Christ will judge the Church (Psalms 50:3-5, cf. Mark 13:27; 2 Corinthians 5:10, Luke 12:45-48) and marry its obedient part (Revelation 19:7-8, Matthew 25:1-12), in the clouds, before it mounts white horses and comes back down from sky (the first heaven) with Jesus (Revelation 19:14), as He defeats the world's armies (Revelation 19:19,21) and the Antichrist and False Prophet (Revelation 19:20), and has Lucifer (Satan) bound in the Bottomless Pit for 1,000 years (Revelation 20:1-3), a time period commonly called the Millennium.

At Jesus Christ's return, He will also make the marriage supper of Revelation 19:9 for the obedient part of the Church in the earthly Jerusalem (Isaiah 25:6-9; 1 Corinthians 15:54) while the birds will feast on the corpses of the world's defeated armies (Revelation 19:17-18). Then Jesus and the obedient part of the Church (of all times) will rule the surviving nations with a rod of iron during the Millennium (Revelation 20:4-6, Revelation 5:10, Revelation 2:26-29, Psalms 2). After the Millennium, Lucifer will be released from the Bottomless Pit and bring about the Gog/Magog rebellion, only to be defeated for the last time (Revelation 20:7-10, Ezekiel chapters 38-39).

At least seven years after that defeat (Ezekiel 39:9b), the Great White Throne Judgment will occur, in which all people of all times who had not been resurrected and judged at Jesus Christ's return will be resurrected and judged (Revelation 20:11-15). Then God will create a New Heaven (a new first heaven: a new sky/atmosphere for the earth) and a New Earth (a new surface for the earth) (Revelation 21:1; 2 Peter 3:10b,13). Then God the Father will descend from the third heaven in the literal city of New Jerusalem (Revelation 21:2), the Father's house (John 14:2, Revelation 21:3), and He will dwell on the earth with Jesus and the Church (Revelation 21:3).

In one area outside the wall of New Jerusalem on the New Earth will be the lake of fire (Revelation 22:15, Revelation 21:8) in which all non-Christians of all times will suffer forever in fire and brimstone with Lucifer/Satan and his fallen angels (Revelation 20:10,15, Matthew 25:41,46).

(Re: What is the Tribulation's *purpose/*reason, when the faithful are not in need of testing?)

While the faithful might not be "in need" of testing, they can still be tested. The future Tribulation's purpose, with regard to the righteous Church in all nations having to suffer through it (Matthew 24:9-13, Revelation 13:7-10, Revelation 14:12-13, Revelation 20:4-6), could be the same as the purpose of righteous Job having to go through his suffering at the hands of Satan (Job chapters 1-2), and the purpose of, for example, the righteous, literal, first century AD local church congregation in the city of Smyrna (Revelation 2:8) in the Roman province of "Asia" (Revelation 1:11) having to suffer and die at the hands of Satan during a first century AD persecution (Revelation 2:10).

(See the first entry under Job above)

But just as the book of Job ends happily (Job 42:12-13), so the book of "Revelation" ends with elation (Revelation 22).

~

(Re: Are Revelation chapters 6 to 18 really the Tribulation?)

Yes, for:

1. They are still-future.

2. They are chronological. (See the "Chronological" section under Revelation chapters 6 to 22 (Overview) above)

The Tribulation will begin with Revelation 6 (Revelation 7:9,14).

3. Jesus Christ will return immediately after Revelation chapters 6 to 18 (Revelation 19:7-21), and He will return immediately after the Tribulation (Matthew 24:29-31).

~

(Re: Are the *trumpets of the Tribulation the same as its vials?)

No, for the trumpet events will occur before the vial events and will affect only one-third of different things (Revelation 8:7 to 9:18), whereas the vial events will affect things in their entirety (Revelation 16). The seven plagues of the seven vials will come out of the seventh trumpet's heavenly-temple opening (Revelation 11:19, Revelation 15:5 to 16:1).

(See the "Chronological" section under Revelation chapters 6 to 22 (Overview) above)

*Revelation 6:1-2 / *Rev. 6:1 -

(Re: The *1st seal)

Regarding the first seal's horseman, on the white horse (Revelation 6:1-2), that could represent the Gospel of Jesus Christ (not Jesus physically: Acts 3:21) going forth to all nations and victoriously saving souls. For Jesus is the rider on the white horse seen later in Revelation 19:11,13 (cf. John 1:1,14), and His Gospel will be preached to all nations during the future Tribulation of Revelation chapters 6 to 18 and Matthew 24 (Matthew 24:14, Revelation 14:6). The bow (Revelation 6:2) is a weapon which is able to affect things far away, just as the Gospel is able to affect things far away from where it began (Luke 24:47).

~

(Re: *Bow = fabric per Strong's)

Other Greek dictionaries (e.g. click on "Middle Liddell") besides Strong's show that the Greek word "toxon" (bow: G5115) used in Revelation 6:2 can refer to the weapon called the bow.

~

(Re: What Greek word is used in Genesis 9:13?)

Genesis was written in Hebrew.

In Genesis 9:13 the original Hebrew word translated as "bow" is "qesheth" (H7198), which could refer to the weapon called the bow (cf. Genesis 27:3). In the case of Genesis 9:13, "qesheth" was used to refer to a rainbow, which is curved like a weapon-bow. Also, just as the bow in Genesis 9:13 was a "token"/symbol of the Noachian covenant (Genesis 9:12-17), so Revelation 6:2 can refer to a symbolic weapon-bow (toxon: G5115) which is a token of Jesus Christ's New Covenant/New Testament (Matthew 26:28, Hebrews 12:24), which is the same as His Gospel (1 Corinthians 15:1-4).

~

(Re: No *arrows?)

Revelation 6:2 saying that the rider has a bow does not require that he has no arrows, just as saying that someone has a gun does not require that he has no bullets.

The first arrows shot forth from the Gospel-bow would have been the early disciples of Jesus Christ (Mark 16:15).

*Revelation 6:4-8 / *Rev. 6:4 -

The last three of the four horsemen (Revelation 6:4-8) represent a horrible, future war which will begin the future Tribulation of Revelation chapters 6 to 18 and Matthew 24, and which war will, with its aftermath of famines and epidemics, end up killing one-fourth of the world (Revelation 6:8). The "great sword" of this war (Revelation 6:4) could be Israel's nuclear weapons.

(See the "War" section of Revelation 13:5 below)

~

While the first horseman could be sent by Jesus Christ, the others could simply be allowed by Jesus to come forth at that time. For the war could be started by evil men, and the famines and epidemics could come as a natural result of a nuclear war's radioactive fallout destroying crop fields and immune systems.

The second, third, and fourth horsemen (Revelation 6:4-8) are not God's judgments, because after them, Christian martyrs ask God when He is going to bring His judgment on the world (Revelation 6:10).

--

*Revelation 6:5 / *Rev. 6:5 -

Here the scales represent the selling of the expensive food in the famines of Revelation 6:6.

--

*Revelation 6:6 / *Rev. 6:6 -

Just as Revelation 6:4 refers to a future war, which is the "sword" part of Revelation 6:8, so Revelation 6:6 refers to future famines, which are the "hunger" part of Revelation 6:8, when food will be so expensive that someone will have to spend an entire day's wages just to buy a quart of wheat (think of a loaf of bread). For when Revelation 6:6 says: "A measure of wheat for a penny", the original Greek says a "choinix" (G5518) of wheat for a "denarion" (G1220). A denarion was a day's wages, and a choinix was probably about a quart.

(Compare Ezekiel 4:10 above)

~

(*Denarion)

The "dinar" is in use today in some countries, and its name is derived from the Greek "denarion" (used in Revelation 6:6), just as the Greek "denarion" was derived from the Latin "denarius". But Revelation 6:6 does not have to be referring to a literal denarion, but can simply be referring to a typical day's wages, no matter in what country's currency. For the ancient denarion was a typical day's wages.

~

(Re: Is the denarion in Revelation 6:6 just symbolic of something spiritual, like the denarion in the parable in Matthew 20?)

No, for just because a denarion is used in the parable of Matthew 20:1-16 does not require that Revelation 6:6 is a parable, instead of it being a literal prophecy, just as the prophecy which immediately followed the parable of Matthew 20:1-16 was a literal prophecy (Matthew 20:17-19). Also, the Bible can refer to a literal denarion in Revelation 6:6, just as it refers to a literal denarion in Matthew 22:19-21. Also, the Bible can refer to both literal denarions and literal wheat in Revelation 6:6, just as it refers to both literal denarions and literal bread in Mark 6:37. See also Mark 14:5 for another example of a literal, Biblical reference to denarions. Also, the wheat in Revelation 6:6 can be literal, just as the wheat in Revelation 18:13, 1 Corinthians 15:37 and Acts 27:38 is literal.

(See also the "Literal" section of Revelation chapters 6 to 22 (Overview) above)

*Revelation 6:8 / *Rev. 6:8 -

(Re: A green horse)

In Revelation 6:8 the original Greek word (chloros: G5515) translated as "pale" is translated in Revelation 8:7, Revelation 9:4 and Mark 6:39 as "green". For the word means "greenish" (Strong's Greek Dictionary), as it is based on a Greek word (chloe: G5514) which means "green".

Who has ever ridden a green horse?

Instead of Revelation 6 referring to four, literal, physical horses and horsemen . . .

(See Revelation 6:1 and Revelation 6:4 above)

~

(His name... was Death)

Just as the rider of the fourth, "pale" ("greenish") horse has the general name of "Death" (Revelation 6:8), so the first three riders in Revelation 6:2-6 might possibly be understood by the general names of: "The Gospel", "A Future War", and "Future Famines".

~

(Re: One-fourth of the world)

The future death of one-fourth of the world (Revelation 6:8) will be a one-time event, just as the subsequent death of one-third of the world (Revelation 9:18) will be a one-time event. Together, this will mean the death of one-half of the world, the death of some four billion people, and during only the first half of the future Tribulation of Revelation chapters 6 to 18 and Matthew 24.

(See the "Details" section of Revelation chapters 6 to 22 (Overview) above)

~

(Re: Do statistics show that over 40% of the world is already dying every second?)

No, the statistics at World Vital Events do not show that over 40% of the world's current population is dying every second. For then over 99% of the world would be dead in less than six seconds. Instead, the statistics show that there are 1.8 deaths every second compared to 4.3 births every second. That is, over 40% of only the birth rate is dying every second.

The statistics show about 57 million deaths per year. Divide this by the current population of about seven billion, and you get 0.8% of the current population dying every year, which is the same as the current World Death Rate being about eight deaths per thousand people per year, which has remained about the same over the last several years, while the one-time, future death of one-fourth of the world (Revelation 6:8) will mean about 250 deaths per thousand people in one year.

Our current death rate of eight deaths per thousand people per year is low compared to what is was during ancient times and the Middle Ages, when it was forty deaths per thousand people per year (Mortality rate - Wikipedia; statistic has been deleted from some reason).

Also, since 1950-1955, when the death rate was about nineteen deaths per thousand people per year, the death rate has been decreasing:

Years | Deaths per thousand people per year
1950-1955 | 19.5
1955-1960 | 17.3
1960-1965 | 15.5
1965-1970 | 13.2
1970-1975 | 11.4
1975-1980 | 10.7
1980-1985 | 10.3
1985-1990 | 9.7
1990-1995 | 9.4
1995-2000 | 8.9
2000-2005 | 8.6
2005-2010 | 8.5
2010-2015 | 8.3
2015-2020 | 8.3 (estimated)

(Mortality rate - Wikipedia).

*Revelation 6:9-11 / *Rev. 6:9 -

(*5th seal)

At the fifth seal (Revelation 6:9-11), during only the first stage of the future Tribulation of Revelation chapters 6 to 18 and Matthew 24, the giving of white robes to the souls of the Christian martyrs in heaven will not be their resurrection, just as the soul of the dead Samuel wearing a robe in Hades (1 Samuel 28:14) was not his resurrection. For Christians will not be resurrected until Jesus Christ's future, Second Coming (1 Corinthians 15:21-23,51-53; 1 Thessalonians 4:15-16, Revelation 19:7 to 20:6), which will not occur until immediately after the future Tribulation (Matthew 24:29-31; 2 Thessalonians 2:1-8, Revelation 19:7 to 20:6).

~

(*Souls)

"Souls" can refer to those who are dead, such as the Christian martyrs in heaven (Revelation 6:9-11).

--

*Revelation 6:10 / *Rev. 6:10 -

The avenging of the blood of the Christian martyrs of Revelation 6:10 will not occur until the seven vials of God's wrath (Revelation 16), which will not occur until after the reign of the future Antichrist, the individual-man aspect of Revelation's "beast" (Revelation 13:4-21). The third vial is even specifically referred to as an avenging of the blood of the Christian martyrs (Revelation 16:4-7).

For the still-future Christian martyrs referred to in Revelation 6:11b will not be killed by God in His wrath. Instead, it will be Satan and evil men who will kill them in their wrath (Matthew 24:9, Revelation 12:12b, Revelation 20:4b).

~

(Re: Means that the martyrs in Revelation 6:10 are not Christians?)

They are Christians, even though Christians are not to call for God's vengeance against their enemies, but are to forgive their enemies (Mark 11:25-26) and love and pray for them (Matthew 5:44). For just as even the apostle Paul could say 2 Timothy 4:14, so the martyrs who say Revelation 6:10 can be Christians. Also, they can include Christian martyrs from the beginning of the Church, for nothing requires that they are only future-Tribulation martyrs.

Also, all Christians should know that while they are never to wish, or exact, vengeance themselves against their enemies, God Himself will still do that for their (and His) sake, eventually (Romans 12:19, Revelation 13:10, Deuteronomy 32:42-43, Psalms 79:12-13).
