Notes: Revelation 13:18 (cont'd) To Revelation 14

(Re: Was *Obama the Antichrist? Or, could he take back power in some way, and become the Antichrist?)

No, for the gematrial "number of the name" of the person who is the Antichrist is 666 (Revelation 13:17c-18, Revelation 15:2), while the gematrial number of the name "Barack Hussein Obama" is 793:

B=2, A=1, R=90, A=1, C=3, K=20, H=8, U=300, S=100, S=100, E=5, I=9, N=50, O=60, B=2, A=1, M=40, A=1. Total = 793.

(See also section 1 of Revelation 13:18 above)

(Re: Is *Putin the Antichrist?)

No, for the gematrial "number of the name" of the person who is the Antichrist is 666 (Revelation 13:17c-18, Revelation 15:2), while the gematrial number of the name "Vladimir Putin" is 1,212:

V=400, L=30, A=1, D=4, I=9, M=40, I=9, R=90, P=70, U=300, T=200, I=9, N=50. Total = 1,212.

And even just "Putin" is 629, not 666.

(See also section 1 of Revelation 13:18 above)

(Re: Will *Hillary Clinton become the Antichrist?)

No, for just the "Y" is 700.

~

(Re: Tony *Blair?)

No, for just the "Y" is 700.

~

(Re: Prince Charles of Wales?)

No, for just the "W" is 500, and each "S" is 100.

~

(Re: Gabrielle Dee Giffords, who survived a deadly head wound?)

No: G=7, A=1, B=2, R=90, I=9, E=5, L=30, L=30, E=5, D=4, E=5, E=5, G=7, I=9, F=6, F=6, O=60, R=90, D=4, S=100. Total = 475

~

(Re: Malala, who survived a deadly head wound?)

No: M=40, A=1, L=30, A=1, L=30, A=1. Total = 103

Also, her last name, Yousafzai, equals more than 666, for just the "Z" by itself is 800.

(Re: *Vicarius Filii Dei?)

"Vicarius Filii Dei", a title of the pope, only equals 666 when by mistake people use the Roman-numeral method of counting the number of a name:

V = 5
I = 1
C = 100
A
R
I = 1
U = 5 (because under this method U is the same as V)
S

F
I = 1
L = 50
I = 1
I = 1

D = 500
E
I = 1

Total = 666

This does not mean that the pope is the Antichrist. It just means that the Roman-numeral method gives false positives. For example:

E
L = 50
L = 50
E
N

G
O
U = 5
L = 50
D = 500

W = 10 (because W = double U = UU = VV)
H
I = 1
T
E

Total = 666

This does not mean that the most important early leader of the SDA view is the Antichrist. It just means that the SDA view (or any other view) should not employ the Roman-numeral method of counting the number of a name, instead of the Bible's own method, which is gematria.

(Re: Is trying to apply Revelation 13:18 to a *woman silly? For it refers to the number of "a man", and says "his" number is 666?)

In Revelation 13:18 the original Greek word (anthropos: G0444) translated as "of a man" does not refer to the male gender, but can refer to any human, whether male or female. Compare Matthew 4:4, where "anthropos" is translated as "man" in the general sense of "mankind". Similarly, in Revelation 13:18 the original Greek word (autos: G0846) translated as "his" does not refer to the male gender, but can refer to any human, whether male or female. Compare Matthew 1:19, where "autos" is translated as "her". This is not to say that the Antichrist will be a woman, but is simply pointing out that nothing in Revelation 13:18 requires a male Antichrist.

(Re: What about the name of *Maitreya equaling 666?)

The future Antichrist's religious claims could include the claim that he is Maitreya (the bodhisattva prophesied by Buddhism, the future, fifth incarnation of Buddha in the present kalpa). But "Maitreya" will not be the Antichrist's personal name. For the gematrial number of his personal name will add up to 666 (Revelation 13:17c-18), while the gematrial number of the name "Maitreya" adds up to 1,046:

M=40, A=1, I=9, T=200, R=90, E=5, Y=700, A=1. Total = 1,046

~

(Re: But does not "Maitreya" = 666 in Hebrew, like is shown below?)

Regarding the transliteration of "Maitreya" into Hebrew which is shown below, why was the first "A" skipped, but the second "A" included? Also, why was the "I" transliterated into the Hebrew letter "Yod", instead of the alternately-possible "Aleph", like how "Aleph" is transliterated into "I" in Biblical names such as "Ish-Bosheth" and "Ithamar"? Also, why was the "E" transliterated into the Hebrew letter "He", which instead is equivalent to the English letter "H"? Why was not the "E" transliterated into "Aleph", like how "Aleph" is transliterated into "E" in Biblical names such as "El" (God) and "Israel"? The actual name "Maitreya" does not seem to have been transliterated, but the non-existent name "Mitrhya", an invention specially fiddled with until it equaled 666:

M - Mem = 40
A - [Skipped, should be Aleph = 1]
I - Yod = 10 [or can be Aleph = 1]
T - Tau = 400
R - Resh = 200
E - He = 5 [can be Aleph = 1]
Y - Yod = 10
A - [Not skipped] Aleph = 1

Total = 666 [sic; should be/can be 654]

Also, why even try to transliterate "Maitreya" into Hebrew (or, for that matter, into Greek, the original language of Revelation 13:17c-18), when there are competing possibilities for how to transliterate it, and one can intentionally fiddle with one's transliteration until it becomes a non-existent name which adds up to 666? Why not just leave "Maitreya" in English and employ English gematria to determine the gematrial number of "Maitreya"?

Also, despite all of this, the future Antichrist's religion will still have some core tenets in common with Buddhism.

(See the "Buddhism" section of 1 John 4:3 above)

~

(Re: Does 666 = the number of *mankind?) / (*Multitude of Muhammad?)

No, for in Revelation 13:18 the original Greek can and does mean that six hundred and sixty-six is "the number of a man", meaning the gematrial number of the name (Revelation 13:17c-18, Revelation 15:2) of the individual man who is the Antichrist (the individual-man aspect of Revelation's "beast"). Six hundred and sixty-six is not the gematrial number of the names of all men, or the gematrial number of the name "Muhammad".

~

(Re: So what is the gematrial number of the name *Muhammad?)

M=40, U=300, H=8, A=1, M=40, M=40, A=1, D=4. Total = 434.

There is also the variation "Mohammed":

M=40, O=60, H=8, A=1, M=40, M=40, E=5, D=4. Total = 198.

There is also a longer version of his name: "Abu al-Qasim Muhammad":

A=1, B=2, U=300, A=1, L=30, Q=80, A=1, S=100, I=9, M=40. Total = 564.

Add this total of "Abu al-Qasim" to the total for "Muhammad" and you get 998.

Add the total of "Abu al-Qasim" to the total for "Mohammed" and you get 762.

Also, it should be pointed out that the future Antichrist will not support Islam in its past and current form during his 42-month worldwide reign.

(See the "Not Islam" section of Revelation 13:4 above)

~

(Re: 666, did the apostle John, who wrote down Revelation, never actually see any Greek letters? And did he not know what he was looking at, so he just copied it down?)

The apostle John heard numbers (Revelation 7:4, Revelation 9:16), and so he could have heard the "number" six hundred and sixty-six:

Revelation 13:18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

(See also the "Not Islam" section of Revelation 13:4 above)

~

(Re: Is 666 the *carbon atom)

No, for the carbon atom is not "Six hundred threescore and six" (Revelation 13:18b), but only three separate sizes: 6 - 6 - 6, with regard to its number of protons, neutrons, and electrons. And there is nothing evil about carbon in itself. Indeed, diamonds are pure carbon.

~

(Re: But we sinful humans are carbon-based life forms)

So is the sinless Jesus Christ (Hebrews 4:15) with regard to His humanity (John 1:14, Luke 24:39). And He is not the Antichrist.

(See the "Sabbath" section of Ephesians 2:15 above)

~

(Re: Is the number of man repeated three times?) / (*Trilogy)

No, for the "666" in Revelation 13:17c-18, in the original Greek Textus Receptus, is not a trilogy of sixes ("6-6-6"), but three different Greek letters (Chi, Xi, and Stigma), the gematrial values of which (600, 60, and 6) must be added together to arrive at the total number (six hundred and sixty-six) which is represented today in decimal notation and Arabic numerals as 666. Before the West adopted decimal notation and Arabic numerals, it used Roman numerals, in which the number six hundred and sixty-six was represented by DCLXVI.

Also, what the six hundred and sixty-six in Revelation 13:17c-18 refers to is the...

(See the first "number of the name" under Revelation 13:18 above)

~

(Re: Is "666" mankind trying to impersonate the Trinity: "777"?)

The gematrial number of the Antichrist's name is six hundred and sixty-six (Revelation 13:17c-18), which could be represented in some cases in a disguised form that looks like "777". For the sixth letter of the Hebrew alphabet (Vav) represents the number 6, but it looks like a 7.

There is already a very-popular energy drink the symbol of which looks like a "777", even though it purports to picture the scratches from the claws of a monster. And on the sides of the cans of this energy drink, there is, or used to be, the motto: "Unleash the Beast". So someone is having fun, or preparing people to be comfortable with, a "Mark of the Beast" that looks like a "777".

(Also, regarding "Unleash the Beast", see paragraphs 2-4 of the "Beast" section of Revelation 13:5 above)

~

(Re: Does Strong's definition of the Greek word *stigma (to "stick", i.e. prick; a mark incised or punched) point to the mark as being a *tattoo?)

At the end of Revelation 13:18, when the apostle John indicates that the gematrial number of the Antichrist's name is six hundred and sixty-six (Revelation 13:17c-18), in the original Greek Textus Receptus John uses the Greek letter Stigma to represent the number six, because that is its gematrial numerical value. He does not use the Greek word "stigma".

It could be more than a coincidence that the name of the Greek letter Stigma is spelled the same as the Greek word "stigma", and that the word "stigma" has a meaning similar to the Greek word "charagma", the word used in Revelation to refer to the "mark" of the beast, which for some people will be 666 (Revelation 13:17-18). But this does not require that to arrive at a correct understanding of what the mark of the beast will be, we must read into the Greek letter Stigma at the end of Revelation 13:18 (in the Textus Receptus) the meaning of the Greek word "stigma". For the Greek word "stigma" is never used in Revelation to refer to the "mark". And the Greek word "charagma" which is used in Revelation to refer to the "mark" already tells us how the mark could be applied: via scarification. For "charagma" (G5480) can mean a "a scratch or etching" (Strong's Greek Dictionary), and scarification is the scratching or etching (that is, the cutting) of the skin to leave a permanent mark.

Also, even the Greek word "stigma" (G4742) can refer to something other than a tattoo. It can also refer to "a mark incised", a "scar" (Strong's Greek Dictionary), which would include a scar received through scarification. The apostle Paul used the Greek word "stigma" to refer to the "marks" of Christ on his body (Galatians 6:17). These marks were not tattoos of Christ, but scars left over from Paul being physically persecuted for preaching Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 11:24-25).

*Revelation 14 / *Rev. 14 -

This chapter refers to the Church, for it refers to Christians, and there are no Christians outside of the Church (Ephesians 4:4-6). Revelation 14 shows that the 144,000 who will be in heaven during the future Antichrist's literal 3.5-year worldwide reign (Revelation 14:1-11, Textus Receptus) will be Christians. For only Christians follow the Lamb Jesus Christ, are redeemed, and can be without fault before the throne of God (Revelation 14:4-5, TR). And Revelation 14 shows that the saints who will be on the earth during the Antichrist's reign (Revelation 14:12-13) will be Christians. For only Christians have the faith of Jesus Christ, and can die in the Lord (Revelation 14:12-13).

--

*Revelation 14:1 / *Rev. 14:1 -

This refers to Jesus Christ (figuratively "a" lamb: Revelation 5:6 to 6:1; 1 Peter 1:19, Acts 8:32, Isaiah 53:7), and to the 144,000 part of the Church standing on the heavenly Mount Zion (cf. Hebrews 12:22), before the throne of God in heaven (Revelation 14:5, Textus Receptus). While Jesus and the 144,000 will be up there physically by the mid-tribulation time of Revelation 14, when others in the Church will still be on the earth and will start dying under the future Antichrist (Revelation 14:12-13), everyone in the Church is figuratively up there already. For Hebrews 12:22 and Ephesians 2:6 can refer figuratively to the Church's salvation under the New Covenant (Galatians 4:24-26, Hebrews 12:22,24).

--

*Revelation 14:4 / *Rev. 14:4 -

This refers to the 144,000 in Revelation 14:1.

(See Revelation 7:4 above)

--

*Revelation 14:6-20 / *Rev. 14:6 -

(Re: Is this everlasting gospel only for the future Tribulation? For is not it different than the Christian Gospel?)

No, it is the Christian Gospel. For both elements of the "everlasting gospel" (that is, for all time) in Revelation 14:6-7 are synecdochic parts of the Gospel which Jesus Christ and His apostles preached in the first century AD (Matthew 10:28, Romans 11:20-22, Romans 15:6).

Revelation 14:6-20 will occur after the events of the future Tribulation's first six trumpets up to Revelation 9:21, and at the start of the future Antichrist's literal 3.5-year worldwide reign (Revelation 13:4-18). Revelation 14:9-11 will be a warning to people (including those in the Church) not to worship the Antichrist, or they will suffer the eternal wrath of God, which will be in the lake of fire and brimstone (Revelation 20:10,15, Matthew 25:41,46).

--

*Revelation 14:8 / *Rev. 14:8 -

Just as the fall of current mankind occurred some 6,000 years ago with the fall of Adam (Romans 5:19), but unsaved, current mankind will not be finally-judged until sometime after the future Millennium and subsequent events (Revelation 20:7-15, Matthew 10:28), so the fall of Revelation's figurative "Babylon" (Revelation 14:8) occurred some 6,000 years ago. For Revelation's "Babylon" (Revelation chapters 17-18) represents all of fallen mankind's corrupt political (Revelation 17:18), economic (Revelation 18:11), and religious (Revelation 18:24) systems throughout the earth (Revelation 18:3) and throughout history (Revelation 17:9-10). But Revelation's "Babylon" will not be destroyed until the seventh vial of God's wrath (Revelation 16:19,17), the final event of the future Tribulation of Revelation chapters 6 to 18 and Matthew 24, right before Jesus Christ's future, Second Coming and the physical resurrection and the marriage of the Church at that time (Revelation 19:2 to 20:6).

(See also Revelation chapters 17-18 below)

--

*Revelation 14:10-11 / *Rev. 14:10 -

This does not require that the entire future Tribulation of Revelation chapters 6 to 18 and Matthew 24 will be God's wrath, or that some people who will receive the future Antichrist's mark cannot be among the non-Christians who will be "left" alive at Jesus Christ's future, Second Coming (Matthew 24:39b-40, Zechariah 14:16-19). For the eternal suffering of Revelation 14:10-11 will be in the lake of fire (Revelation 20:10,15, Revelation 21:8, Matthew 25:41,46), which people other than the Antichrist and his False Prophet (Revelation 19:20) will not be cast into until the Great White Throne Judgment (Revelation 20:11,15), which will not occur until sometime after Jesus' Second Coming and the subsequent Millennium (1,000 years) and Gog/Magog rebellion (Revelation 19:7 to 20:15).

(Re: Is *torture wrong?)

To torture their fellow creatures is wrong for humans, because, as mere creatures, they have no right to do it. But it is not wrong for God, because, as the Creator, He has the right to do with His creatures whatever He wants (Romans 9:21-22). Also, the eternal suffering which He will mete out to non-Christians (Revelation 20:10,15, Revelation 14:10-11, Matthew 25:41,46) will not be some sick or capricious act of cruelty, but an expression of that aspect of His perfect holiness called His righteous judgment and wrath against evil (Romans 2:5, Hebrews 12:28b-29).

Also, the suffering in the lake of fire (the future, eternal hell) may not be torture in the sense of it being so bad that it causes uncontrollable screaming or the loss of one's mental faculties. For an unsaved person in Hades (the current, temporary hell) can still carry on a calm, rational conversation, even while he is being "tormented" by flame (Luke 16:23-31).

But, sadly, the torture perpetrated by humans against their fellow humans, which was practiced by the CIA in the past (under "rendition", and in its "black sites"), and which is still being secretly practiced by even some Western intelligence agencies today, and of course by many non-Western intelligence agencies, is still ongoing without any legal recourse for the victims. And it is utterly evil, Satanic. For it thinks that the end justifies the means. But it does not (Romans 3:8). And this is a lie of Satan himself, who loves to secretly torture and murder people (John 8:44; 1 Peter 5:8).

--

*Revelation 14:11 / *Rev. 14:11 -

This does not mean that the Antichrist's name is the same as the gematrial number of his name (six hundred and sixty-six) (Revelation 13:17c-18). For names and numbers are different things. Instead, Revelation 14:11 refers synecdochically to only the first of the two options regarding the future Antichrist's mark (Revelation 13:17), just as Revelation 15:2 refers synecdochically to only the second option.

(See also Revelation 13:16 above)

--

*Revelation 14:12-13 / *Rev. 14:12 -

This refers to Christians in our future being patient and faithful to the point of being killed for not worshipping the future Antichrist and his image, and not receiving his mark, knowing that if they do these things, they will be punished by God with eternal suffering (Revelation 14:9-13). But if they refuse to do these things, even if they are killed by the Antichrist their still-conscious souls will be reaped by Jesus Christ into heaven (Revelation 14:14-16, Revelation 15:2). And they will later be resurrected into physical immortality along with the rest of the obedient Church (of all times) at Jesus' future, Second Coming (1 Corinthians 15:21-23,52-53, Revelation 20:4-6), which will occur immediately after the future Tribulation of Revelation chapters 6 to 18 and Matthew 24 (Matthew 24:29-31, Revelation 19:7 to 20:6).

(Re: Comfort)

Revelation 14:12-13 is the same idea as 1 Thessalonians 5:10-11, meaning that obedient Christians can have the comfort of God's Holy Spirit at any time (John 14:15-17), in any tribulation (2 Corinthians 1:4-7), no matter whether they live or die.

~

(Commandments)

Revelation 14:12 is not referring to the letter of the commandments of the Old Covenant Mosaic law.

(See the "Law" section of Ephesians 2:15 above)

--

*Revelation 14:14-16 / *Rev. 14:14 / *Rev. 14:15 / *Rev. 14:16 -

This refers to Jesus Christ sitting on a single cloud in heaven and reaping into heaven (beginning mid-tribulation) the souls of those in the Church who will be killed (Revelation 14:13) by the future Antichrist during his literal 3.5-year worldwide reign (Revelation 13:5-18), which will be during the latter half of the future Tribulation of Revelation chapters 6 to 18 and Matthew 24. They will be killed for refusing to worship the Antichrist and his image, and refusing to receive his mark (Revelation 14:9-16, cf. Revelation 15:2, Revelation 20:4-6).

(See also Revelation 14:12 above)

~

("Like unto" the Son of man)

The person "like unto the Son of man" in Revelation 14:14 is Jesus Christ, just as the person "like unto the Son of man" in Revelation 1:13 is Jesus (Revelation 1:17-18).

~

(Re: A single crown)

The person wearing a single crown in Revelation 14:14 is Jesus Christ, just as the person wearing a single crown in John 19:5 is Jesus. The single crown in Revelation 14:14 could even be a golden crown of thorns (cf. John 19:5), which Jesus could wear while He is reaping the souls of future Christian martyrs into heaven (Revelation 14:13-16), as a reminder to all that He too was martyred (John 19:16-30).

--

*Revelation 14:18-20 / *Rev. 14:18 / *Rev. 14:19 / *Rev. 14:20 -

This does not mean that the entire future Tribulation of Revelation chapters 6 to 18 and Matthew 24 will be God's wrath. For Revelation 14:19-20 can refer to the future Antichrist's killing of non-Christians who will not worship him (such as radical Muslims, ultra-Orthodox Jews, hardcore atheists, etc.) being God's wrath against those non-Christians. Revelation 14:20 could refer to when they get beheaded by the Antichrist (say, with one swing of a large axe, while they are kneeling), their blood will shoot up from their necks like a geyser as high as a horse's bridle. Also, in Revelation 14:20 the city could be Jerusalem, and the 1,600 furlongs is about 200 miles. So Revelation 14:19-20 could mean that the Antichrist's beheading of people who will not worship him will begin at Jerusalem and the surrounding region, when he sits (at least one time) in a future, third Jewish temple in Jerusalem and proclaims himself God (2 Thessalonians 2:4, Daniel 11:36), and has the abomination of desolation (possibly a standing, android image of the Antichrist) set up in the holy place (the inner sanctum) of the temple (Matthew 24:15, Daniel 11:31).

But when the Antichrist beheads Christians for not worshipping him (Revelation 20:4), this will not be God's wrath against them, but Satan's wrath (Revelation 12:17). For Christians are not appointed to God's wrath (1 Thessalonians 5:9).

~

(Re: Regarding Revelation 14:20, can it mean that the blood will form a circular lake five feet deep and 200 miles in radius?)

It cannot mean that, because there would not be enough people to form that much blood, or even to fill such a volume with their standing bodies packed solidly together. For a circle 200 miles in radius would have an area of pi times 200 squared, or 3.14 times 40,000, or 125,600 square miles. And each square mile contains almost 28 million square feet. So 125,600 square miles would contain 3.5 trillion square feet. And even if each standing person took up two square feet, it would still take 1.75 trillion people to fill up the circle. Currently, there are only some eight billion people on the planet, and half of these could be killed before Revelation 14:20 even occurs.

(See section 3 of Revelation 6:8 above)

So there are nowhere near enough people on the earth to fill up with their blood a circular lake five feet deep and 200 miles in radius.

So Revelation 14:20 could be referring instead to a narrow river-like flow of blood some five feet deep flowing out of the winepress in one direction like a flash flood down a wadi for a distance of 200 miles.
