You Better Go And Get Your Armor

We're speaking on God's Armor in my bible study tonight and honestly I got nothing! I've heard about it all my life but I don't think I've truly understood it or took it to heart.

Thoughts? Comments? Suggestions?

I always hear people talking about "praying on the armour of God," especially in the face of spiritual warfare, and I honestly have no idea what they're talking about.

I'm fairly certain that the armour of God is an indication of lifestyle: One that is defined by faith, righteousness, the assurance of salvation, and the truth of Scripture.

I think there's actually scriptural references to the amour of God...but alas I am not one of those who remembers all those said references...I can go do a search though...

Ephesians 6:10-18
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

My first thought was that of David when he was going to fight the giant and the king wanted him to use his armor but David decided not to. Instead, he used a sling and a stone.

I thought about the weight of the world and how we need God's "armor" to fight the battle called life. How we try to use the "best armor" (anything outside of the Lord) to fight our battles but only the Lord's will withstand.

*shrugs*

I don't know....it all sounds so cliche' to me.
