I posted prayer req. a couple days ago.
To add some info: Two brothers in this family committed suicide. Jim died two years ago, and Bobby died 4 months ago.
The week of Bobby's death, Mom was diagnosed with a rare and very aggressive cancer with a zero survival rate.
She has maybe weeks left to live and is 82.
Things are like a nightmare and getting worse. One sister is consumed with rage from past hurts and sibling rivalry. She verbally attacked her brother (my husband), whom she has always gotten along with and loved.
The other sis is the caregiver and their mom has gone from knowing her kids and her situation just two weeks ago to now believing her kids are her siblings and that there are babies under the bed. She has become violent and Hospice nurse has had to double the haldol and morphine to sedate her.
The sisters are not speaking, and one is missing out on a narrow window of opportunity to spend precious time with her mother and brother and sister because she is consumed with resentment, pride, hurt, and hatred.
How can someone really believe this is about her instead of seeing that the only concern on everyone's mind right now is Mom?
I can't wrap my mind around that type of thinking. It's as though she has become unrational to the utmost degree... and she is trained in the field of investigation... has been an investigator for over 16 years. She uses logic and research and facts in her daily decision-making at her job.
