And although
Ezekiel 37 was declared directly to Ezekiel's own generation, there is absolutely nothing in the entire chapter that even suggests the idea that this would be fulfilled at any time in the near future.
There is another option.
Eze 37:12 Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people,
I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.
Eze 37:13 And ye shall know that I
am the LORD,
when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves,
Eze 37:14
And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken
it, and performed
it, saith the LORD.
This can also be about the spiritual resurrection from the dead found in John 5:24 and or the resurrection of the body found in John 5:27-30.
It clearly contains an allusion to a resurrection of the dead.
Eze 37:26 Moreover I will make
a covenant of peace with them; it shall be
an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and
will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore.
(Heb 13:20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of
the everlasting covenant, )
Who is the sanctuary in the New Covenant?
Joh_2:19 Jesus answered and said unto them,
Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
Jer 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that
I will make a new covenant with
the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
Jer 31:32
Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:
Jer 31:33 But this
shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
Act 2:36 Therefore
let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
