How ignorant of you.
JESUS used scripture "out of context" to make His points quite often.
I bet those apples taste mighty fine right about now..

False. Jesus always used the scriptures with their original intended meaning.

And what makes you think he is the one that came up with the adds?? The "brilliant adds" were thought of by "brilliant"paid advertising company employees!!!
I look back and couldn't find anyone claimed Cruz himself came up with the ads. Who post were you referring to.

No one in particular--It just seemed that people think they are his adds, as though he came up with the ideas. it was just a general statement. I really don't know who I'm voting for--always hated politics--anymore it's not the best of the litter, just which one you think is going to cause the least amount of damage!!

It's very simple, figure out which issue is important to you and vote on those issues. Politics has always been dirty.

And he uses a porn star in a commercial.
What's wrong with that?

I recall reading about how ex-porn star Sasha Grey caused a ton of commotion after she participating in "Read Across America" which consisted of her visiting an elementary school and reading to children. She defended herself by saying her past shouldn't define who she is.

It's the same thing with the porn star who was in the Cruz ad. She wasn't flaunting her past; at the time at least it seems she supported Cruz, so why not let her have a part in the ad?

If Cruz's people are on the ball, that whole thing might work out to his benefit. The actress (yes, she appeared in many mainstream shows, including a couple of the Star Trek franchises and spin offs), does not seem to be offended --after all, she did get paid-- and might actually be supporting Cruz. At least according to her statements, she hasn't ruled that out.

Would not be surprised to see her in subsequent Cruz commercials with a bit of a different spin to them.

Again, that is assuming that Cruz's PR people are thinking.

Non sense.

Sure! Because Jesus, when he said to love your enemy, he really meant carpet bomb your enemy! It's right there in the Bible in the "secret decoder ring" pages.

If someone breaks into your house and threatens to kill your family members, would you willingly let them for the sake of "loving your enemies"?

I don't know...what did Jesus say about that? What about where Jesus says "But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also." what do you think he meant?

Listen as a nation, we have a right to defend ourselves from those who profess to be our enemies, that very same bible that you are quoting from and pulling out of context, shows the Israelites fighting and killing their enemies.

OF COURSE I'm quoting out of context! We're talking about "Christian values"...and we all know that means whatever the listener wants it to mean! If the listener loves GUNS and kicking behind...that means Jesus loved guns and couldn't wait to open a can of whoop-butt!

Christianity really means nothing by itself! It's LITERALLY whatever the person wants it to mean. Christ loved guns, thought poor people were shmucks who got what they deserved and couldn't wait to kill some muslims!

THAT'S what Christian Values are...whatever we want them to be...and they have not reality outside of our gut feelings at any given moment.

So you tell me, When Jesus said love your neighbor as yourself, how exactly do you love your family or neighbors when you do nothing to protect them from danger? Do you think it would be very loving if you watched someone hurt and murder someone else?

Are we loving people around the world when we sit idly by while ISIS and other groups are killing people in others way?

What Jesus was talking about was when people disrespect you and speak evil to you. You're not suppose to respond with violence and anger. Jesus is not talking about when people just simply try to murder you and your family or when your nation is threatened.

You can't love your nation and a be passivist coward at the same time.

He doesn't understand the difference between a personal issue and someone's job. If POTUS attacks anyone or another nation on a personal issue then it's wrong. This is why King David was guilty of murdering Uriah even though he died in battle. He personally send him to die to cover up his sin. Now King David was not guilty of murdering of any other soldiers died in battle since he was acting on the authority of a king given by God.
It's the same a boss may have to fire someone doesn't mean it was personal.
Paul wrote to Timothy to study the Bible so he can rightly divide it. I just wish more Christians take Paul's advice.

Very well said Jordan. Difficult to add much to that but I will try. I believe that God expects us to intercede when we should. We don't have unlimited resources and I think we are to pray for wisdom to assist those who are most oppressed, or a grave danger to the world, in a judicious manner. Whether that means military intervention of other methods. All things ISIS qualifies as requiring our attention in the opinion of a rational and civilized human.

I highly doubt that she'll vote for him. I've read reports that her initial response was not so civil (I believe done privately on social media) but that she apparently toned down the remarks once it became a story. I'm sure there are clauses in her contract that keep her from talking about her own preference for President -- it doesn't look good for an actor in a political ad to stump for another candidate, or even say not to vote for the candidate whose ad they appeared in.

All either one of us knows, unless we know the woman personally and have spoken to her about the subject --i do not and have not-- is what we see in the media. We have no idea how accurate that might be.

You may be right about the contract clauses. Then again, having seen lots of political commercials from all sides, i don't think the people who produce them are that bright. Like a blind squirrel, they find a nut from time to time. The LBJ daisy commercial comes to mind during the 1964 election.

Who says that anything is. I actually thought it was a bit strange that he isn't airing the ad anymore, instead "judging" her on her past.
she is not a true Christian - She is unrepentant.
Not everyone who calls themself a Christian IS one you know.
Do your homework for pity sakes
And read 1 Cor 5 about having nothing to do with unrepentant immoral people who claim to be "Christians"

Where did I claim she is a Christian and why would she need to be one? Is Cruz solely a candidate for Christians? Are non-Christians not good enough to be given forgiveness? And how do you know she is "unrepentant? I guess you know here personally and can see into her soul, as well as her relationship to God?
