she is not a true Christian - She is unrepentant.
Not everyone who calls themself a Christian IS one you know.
Do your homework for pity sakes
And read 1 Cor 5 about having nothing to do with unrepentant immoral people who claim to be "Christians"

:sigh: Seriously, it's not up to you who is or isn't a Christian.

Where did I claim she is a Christian and why would she need to be one? Is Cruz solely a candidate for Christians? Are non-Christians not good enough to be given forgiveness? And how do you know she is "unrepentant? I guess you know here personally and can see into her soul, as well as her relationship to God?
It is a central principle of Christianity that nobody is "good enough" to be given forgiveness. Grace means unmerited favour.

However, that said, as Cruz himself pointed out: He's not running to be Pastor-in-Chief. He's running for President of the US. That is all of the US, not just Evangelicals.

While Cruz is a Christian, he is more so a Constitutionalist in terms of how to govern. i believe that he would welcome this woman's support if indeed she supports him.

i agree that the post you are replying to is "over the top". The poster, unless she knows the woman personally (and has knowledge of her 'heart', something reserved to an almighty God) is out of line. This is one of the problems that i have in mixing Christianity and contemporary US politics.

Well, while he appears to welcome her support, he doesn't seem interested in giving her any support in return. :sorry:

So you tell me, When Jesus said love your neighbor as yourself, how exactly do you love your family or neighbors when you do nothing to protect them from danger? Do you think it would be very loving if you watched someone hurt and murder someone else?

Jesus also said love your enemy and resist not evil but whosoever strikes you on the right cheek turn to him the left cheek.

I know those are inconvenient verses and usually ignored by Conservatives.

Jesus could be kind of discomforting at times.

What Jesus was talking about was

OK! Here we go! What was Jesus really wanting to say....

when people disrespect you and speak evil to you. You're not suppose to respond with violence and anger. Jesus is not talking about when people just simply try to murder you and your family or when your nation is threatened.

Prove it.

You can't love your nation and a be passivist coward at the same time.

Oh, here I thought we were talking about Ted Cruz's Christian values, not his Nationalist Values.

I keep those separate. But I understand how it's uncomfortable for some folks.

He doesn't understand the difference between a personal issue and someone's job.

Remember the topic of the thread is Ted's Christian values.

Now King David was not guilty of murdering of any other soldiers died in battle since he was acting on the authority of a king given by God.

Wow. I really love how Pharasaical Jesus apparently was! You'd think He would have had his complex codex of laws written less "simply" in the NT.

I keep forgetting that even though Jesus comes across as a pacifist in many verses plain and simple he's REALLY a violent enforcer and more than happy to carpet bomb some folks whenever necessary.

It's the same a boss may have to fire someone doesn't mean it was personal.

Carpet bombing Syria would result in innocent people dying. That's how carpet bombing works.

I bet to them it would feel kinda personal.

But then they never had someone teach them about the LOVE OF GOD and HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, Jesus.

I'm sure they'd be OK with being annihilated in an inferno if they knew that Jesus was OK with it.

Paul wrote to Timothy to study the Bible so he can rightly divide it. I just wish more Christians take Paul's advice.

Because clearly some Christians don't understand that Jesus LOVED carpet bombing! Indiscriminate death from the sky! Selah!

Between the porn star and the guy who wants to carpet bomb a country, I think the porn star is probably a lot closer to the kingdom of Heaven.

ONLY if one believes the Bible where Jesus hung out with the sinners and eschewed the false piety of the hypocrites.

But that isn't the Bible that most Conservative Republicans read. They read the one about GI Jesus who loved guns, tax breaks for the wealthy and thought the poor had it comin' to 'em and they should have to urinate in a cup to get any charity.

.

Ted shouldn't run for "Pastor-in-Chief". But he seems more than happy to "use" his "faith" in order to get the votes of people who desperately WANT a Pastor-in-Chief.

He blathers on about his faith as if it is the cornerstone of his governing, so which am I supposed to believe? That he's a strict constitutionalist wed to the Separation of Church and State or the lurking theocrat who talks non-stop about God in his political speeches?

Is he playing his "base" for fools or is he playing everyone else for fools?

Well, to be fair to many Christians that is their only job. They sit at the right hand of the Father to come to judge the Quick and the Dead.

It's an honor that many of them have earned through their piety. God takes care of His own.

God writes names in the Lamb's Book of Life using a pencil for most people...but permanent marker for others.

^^^QFT^^^^ Ted was employing a down-on-her-luck woman who had previously had to degrade herself in a most unchristian way. In a sense Ted's campaign HELPED HER GET OUT OF A LIFE OF PORN. Even if it was just one small role.

Bravo, Ted!
Not if he canned the commercial.

You omitted the fact he didn't know the woman was a soft-porn actor and immediately pulled the commercial when that detail came to light.

Love your flare for "creative editing" though.
;)

That's how democrats operate.

Whatever it takes to avoid substance.

As we've learned more about the woman, we find that she had already transitioned to more reputable television and movie productions.

Her sordid past was simply brought up by leftist political operatives in an attempt to smear Cruz.

Thank God Ted was able to give her a leg up retroactively!

Yes, because the Right NEVER smears anyone based on hearsay or limited value to the truth.

Oh, wait, I forgot that the GOP had Karl Rove and his racist whisper campaigns about McCain and the GOP also had Lee Atwater the godfather of smear campaigning!

LOL. Sorry but it's so hard to watch Conservatives try to take the "high road"....considering that they are the kings of sleeze.

Haven't you read Revelation? Jesus is going to do a lot worst than carpet bomb when he reclaims this earth. This is Jesus Christ coming in power as the King of Kings. Revelations even mention the "wrath of the Lamb".
Cruz will have the authority if he becomes President to declare war and carpet bomb our enemies.

I don't see that at all. From what I read, no one brought it up until Cruz quit running the ad because he found she was a former soft porn actress. Even now, I don't see liberals using this as some type of major issue. I'm the one who brought up the issue and I only mentioned it because I ran across a small blurb in the Houston Chronicle (actress is from Houston and Cruz being from Texas) about it.

And people claim that Muslims have an ideology of violence...

Peace-loving Christians for Carpet Bombing!

All the bigotry espoused against Muslims for some words in their holy book is extremely hypocritical based on the words in their own holy book and their self-proclaimed understanding of their ideology.

So that means Christians can blithely ignore what Jesus said in the Gospels? That humans are allowed to carpet bomb and kill innocents and be proud of that?

I didn't realize!

Thanks, Jesus. Thanks for giving us the freedom to be complete war-monsters! Let the bombing begin!

Cruz will have the authority if he becomes President to declare war and carpet bomb our enemies.

Well, just so long as he does it with Jesus' approval I bet it'll be really cool! I hope those innocent people that die in the carpet bombing are happy about it...but really, who cares? If they aren't Americans then they aren't really humans! And if they aren't really human then Jesus is probably OK with us doing whatever we want to 'em!

Please can we stop with the fiction that any of this comports with Christian values? Or do we REALLY have to destroy Christianity in order to get our particular camel through this needle's eye?

Since you are an atheist then you should be thankful since you don't believe Jesus Christ will return ... thus those violent acts will never take place. According to Revelation if Jesus Christ doesn't return man would totally destroy himself. It's sinful man that the violent one.
Muslims believe they themselves should judge and kill the infidels so you don't see the difference?

If someone break in my house in the middle of the night and threaten my family then I believe I have the right to shoot to kill. If you study your Bible you will know God used even ungodly men like Nebuchadnezzar to do His will even though Nebuchadnezzar believes he did it on his own. God didn't ask me to apologies for Him.

Buzzfeed brought it up. Team Cruz then pulled the ad.
