I ask this question in light of the fact that Sabbath is looked at as a burden by some, because of the restrictions including no work.
If it is as it will be, that the same restrictions are placed on Sunday would that be a burden for you also?
There is a call for Sunday observance to be made law and restrictions on working etc. be enforced. It is now being advocated to be a family day, shortly the laws that are on the books would be enforced and new laws enacted to mandate all to keep Sunday as an holy day similar to what God requires of the Sabbath.
Would that not make Sunday a burden if the Sabbath is regarded as such?

Not sure i really understand the question and scripture below is something im just...well im not done looking into it. Scripture below does speak of burden and of the sabbath but im not sure it has anything to do with your question but ill post it anyways.

JEREMIAH 23
[20] The anger of the Lord shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the thoughts of his heart: IN THE LATTER DAYS ye shall consider it perfectly.

[26] How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies? yea, they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart; [27] Which think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbour, as their fathers have FORGOTTEN MY NAME FOR BAAL.

[28] The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the CHAFF TO THE WHEAT? saith the Lord. [29] Is not MY WORD LIKE AS A FIRE? saith the Lord; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?

[32] Behold, I am against them that prophesy false dreams, saith the Lord, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by THEIR LIES, and by THEIR LIGHTNESS; yet I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore THEY SHALL NOT PROFIT THIS PEOPLE AT ALL, saith the Lord.

[36] And the burden of the Lord shall ye mention no more: for EVERY MAN'S WORD SHALL BE HIS BURDEN; for ye have perverted the words of the living God, of the Lord of hosts our God.

[39] Therefore, behold, I, even I, will utterly forget you, and I will forsake you, and the city that I gave you and your fathers, and cast you out of my presence: [40] And I will bring an EVERLASTING REPROACH upon you, and a PERPETUAL SHAME, which shall NOT BE FORGOTTEN.

Lookin through Jer.23 we find that in the latter days there will be prophets that decieve Gods people and cause them to follow the practices of baal. baal of course is worshipped on the day of the sun.

JER.23[28-29] What is the chaff to the wheat? Is not my word like as a fire?
LUKE 3 [16] John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire: [17] Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and will GATHER THE WHEAT into his garner; but the CHAFF HE WILL BURN WITH FIRE unquenchable.

JER.23[36] every man's word shall be his burden
MATTHEW 12 [36] But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. [37] FOR BY THY WORDS THOU SHALT BE JUSTIFIED, AND BY THY WORDS THOU SHALT BE CONDEMNED.

JER.23[40] The EVERLASTING reproach?
LEV.24 [8] EVERY SABBATH he shall set it in order before the LORD continually, being taken from the children of Israel by AN EVERLASTING COVENANT.

JER.23[40] The PERPETUAL shame, which shall NOT BE FORGOTTEN?
JEREMIAH 50 [5] They shall ask the way to Zion with their faces thitherward, saying, Come, and LET US JOIN OURSELVES TO THE LORD IN A PERPETUAL COVENANT THAT SHALL NOT BE FORGOTTEN. [6] My people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their restingplace.

The scriptue below is the only other place you will find the words “perpetual covenant” in the KJV. Coincidence, a billion to one shot, or the beauty and greatness of the WORD of God. Scripture above is about the "LOST SHEEP"

EXODUS 31[16] Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a PERPETUAL COVENANT.

MATT.15 [24] But he answered and said, I AM NOT SENT BUT UNTO THE LOST SHEEP of the house of Israel.

Hi my SDA friend WW, let's look at these scriptures you posted from Jer23 to confirm your point about the Sabbath or not.

If you unraveled the lies your question would not be asked. The truth is: Sunday is a day of worship, not a Sabbath. Worship is a choice it's not a burden.

Why are you questions always loaded with issues you will not and cannot prove? Why not give us the option to say that Sunday is not the Sabbath?

The Catholic Church Catechism (CCC) does call for observance of Sunday to replace the Sabbath. (don't partial quote me) SDA tend to ignore the fact that the CCC spells out in an article that Sabbath is Saturday and in another article that Sunday is not the Sabbath.

This is an irrelevant issue in America if anything we are going further away from having any worship day at all more and more godless.
I think all the liberals and atheists wouldn't allow a mandatory day of worship at all they would sue all the way to the supreme court just
as the 10 commandments and God is being ripped out of society the absurd idea that a godless government would enforce a day of worship is utterly ludicrous.

The Sabbath was first on Saturday. Sundown Friday unto sundown Saturday.
I don't think there should be a civil law that permits those who honor the Sabbath a special day off. How would one ascertain their sincerity? Or just someone who wanted a possibly paid day off work?

The employers I've come across knowing that an employee has a day or two off in the normal schedule typically don't have a problem with Saturday off requests for Sabbath. Or Sunday if that's the case for some.
But it does depend on the type business as well and if they're particularly busy on weekends.

Sabbath though isn't something that is legalistic for Christians. The ten commandments still apply but we're not obligated to obey the strict tenets that pertain to others practice.

Honor the Sabbath and keep it holy. The disciples kept the Sabbath after Jesus resurrection and return to Heaven. So it still was in force after Jesus departed and for those who walked with him in his ministry.
Jesus worked on the Sabbath so if he can do so we shouldn't worry I don't think.

The 10 commandments are the property of Israel and have never applied to Gentile Christians.

The disciples you are talking about were all Jews (Israel) and kept the Sabbath (for the most part) but later many stopped keeping the Sabbath at times (Paul) when it conflicted with their ministry (to the Gentiles).

Gentile Christians need to be told constantly here that the 10 commandments aren't ours to keep. We keep most of them because our commandment to love our neighbor and God cover 9/10 of them and our Sabbath rest is in Jesus not a ceremonial day.

Yes well, antinomianism does tend to creep into peoples mind.
The ten commandments are the immutable moral laws of God. If the Christian recalls what they say , thinking someone saying they no longer apply is a bit absurd quite frankly.
Further, I appreciate someone saying they have their sabbath rest in Jesus. I've not met many Christians that say they do not, and scripture supports this, go to church on a Sabbath day. That's quite unusual I'm sure.

The 10 commandments were never given to anyone but Israel the Bible says so, the Sabbath is Israel's only no one else was ever required to keep it nor does the Bible say anywhere in the New Testament in any sort of fashion that Christians must keep Sabbath days in fact Paul equates them as voluntary. Nobody in the New Testament Jesus, nor the 12 apostles, nor Paul, nor the followers of such written about have ever commanded Christians keep the Sabbath and without instruction to keep the Sabbath and no direct mention of the 10 commandments you have no basis to insist such upon believers here.

Jesus did not work for wages on the Sabbath, that is exactly what God ask us not to do. The law will not be for keeping Sabbath but for keeping Sunday as the family day is not being called for.

Explain then why Paul was keeping the Sabbath with the Gentles. Please note that this is not the only occasion recorded. Acts 13:
42 And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.

43 Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.

44 And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.

45 But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spake against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming.

Turn a blind eye to the news, if anything Sharia Law is more likely than Sunday Laws as Christianity more and more has been losing to other religions otherwise SSM wouldn't be law almost everywhere now.

One can only "Keep" the Sabbath 1/7 of the time and at a prescribed time, and it requires certain things be done every time and certain things to be abstained from. In other words there is a ceremony required. Look up the definition of ceremony. Anything moral needs to be adhered to ALL THE TIME not just 1/7 of the time.

Assembling on the Sabbath isn't keeping it, there is no record in the Law itself one must assemble on the Sabbath in the command to keep it.

No, it is not coming. No, it will not and is not happening. No, the Bible doesn't say so. No, God is not wrong, you and Ms White are.
Ms. White was clueless as to the end times not reading into the Bible about the falling away bit and not logically thinking that only people who consider Sunday as important is Christians and Christianity has taken such a beating now that it is becoming very unpopular such that if they did try and pass Sunday Laws anywhere in the world it would go nowhere. There is a growing hatred for Holiness found in the Bible and Jesus has become more and more a bad word in its reality.

I agree. The world is moving quickly away from any such thing, not closer to it. I have said it before, but many seem to be ignorant of America's own history and the "blue laws" that used to be the law of the day here. To think society is moving back towards that is to be totally out of touch with reality.
