  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Overexposed. The world's been having a love affair with zombies for several years now. It's time to spend some time apart, I think. Maybe start seeing some other genres. Same goes for vampires.

That being said, Walking Dead from Image Comics is great. It's the zombie movie that never ends, to the point where it's not even about the zombies anymore.

I prefer the nuclear/chemical/biological/viral type to any sort of supernatural variety. I prefer the slow vs. the more recent trend of speedy zombies. The survival aspects are my main attraction, not the actual zombies themselves. If I pick up a novel and the zombies are magical/demon based and or intelligent (speaking, using weapons) I am probably not going to enjoy the book as a 'zombie' book.

I Agree with you, Rage Zombies and such are much to fast. What happend to those shamblers? For the surival aspect, it is fun to imagine what sort of plan you would hatch if the apocalypse was full of the walking dead xD

Yeah, awesome. I've always been fascinated by the idea of a zombie apocalypse, and the scenarios that go with it, its why I've always been such a huge fan of the Resident Evil games (NOT THE FILMS.), slow shambling zombies are much better.

In my eyes, when they can run, or have intelligence in the slightest, it makes them more human, and therefore less threatening. Someone mentioned World War Z, another good book by the same author is the Zombie Survival Guide, written as a genuine survival guide, its pretty fun!

Day by Day Armegeddon is another decent read. It's written as a diary. The character is _really_ prepared for survival, almost too much (he has russian submarine batteries charged by solar power, glass shard topped compound walls - and all of this before any hint at zombie outbreak). It comes off a bit like we are reading the author's personal fantasy.
