how is this a debate...thats just a statement of fact....it helps if you ask peoples oppinions on games rather than just state what you think about them and ask people to agree with you.

In my opinion, FF7 is the best RPG, and probably the best game, I've ever played. It might have something to do with the fact that it was the first RPG I played though.
The original Suikoden was memorable too though.

FF7 in my opinion is the best game ever, and im glad i picked up another copy of it (brand new) because i love it!
i think it has one of the best story lines, best battle engine, best characters, and best longetivity, not to mention the amount of sidequests available, and how hard some of them are. i love a challenging game and FF7 can provide that. Emerald and Ruby weapon are by far the best battles in the game (if not any rpg) well omega weapon in 8 was one tough cookie, but wasnt too hard to beat.
but i do agree 6 is great, but not up to par with 7.

Depends on how you look at it: FF7 is still the best RPG I have played. It was the beginning IMO of FF franchise's use of theatrical elements that enhanced the RPG experience...
not seeing ZOE though, hmmm maybe I should play it again?

i've never played any Z.O.E. games, but i have played many final fantasy (s)
and in my opinion
FF7 has to be the best game of all time.... everything about it is great, save the graphics, but those were awsome for the time. sure, the others were grand as well, but don't match up to VII. storyline=great ...character and development=great ... music=great ....gameplay=great

and like someone said before, i probably give too much credit because it was the first final fantasy i played. and i was on the computer too!...ack! thankfully, i found a brand new ps1 version and bought it right there, even if i had to sell my cd player on the spot.
and in my opinion
