did you ever notice that one of the characters that is portrayed as evil was wearing an american flag head bandana and was wearing a christian cross for a necklace? I didn't think much about what my son was wacthing until I saw that. This charachter's name was "Bandit Keith". And he was deceiving and manipulating openly a younger charachter into plotting evil against Yu-gi. Obviously it was not the little guy's fault for such an attack since it was the evil influence of this Christian American that is a bandit/thief. Parents...pay close attention to what the makers put out. It's not always violence and porn but negative influence over what we teach our kids.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

a lot of people wear crosses as a fashion statement nowadays. My friend always wears a cross and she is definately not a Christian. He wears a flag bandana because he's from the US. If it is a statement about the US, it might be true.

Well that's even worse to have the cross which have been a symbol for Christians over thousands of years and it be corrupted slowly by converting it to a mere fashion statment and lose the significance that we Christians associate with His death. Our identity is tied to Him. We are crucified with him.
But nevertheless- my point is the origin/culture of the maker. If it were not from Japan and perhaps America I would not raise the issue of non-christian culture.

Let me add that I'm not saying that Bandit Keith is Christian. But my point is how the charachter was portrayed and in Japan they do not understand our own culture be it so intermingled with different religeons. They do say Americans have too much love for violence and that shows in our entertainment, like games when they abhor first person shooters but love mario tennis. anyways all i'm saying is as a mom of four I have to be sure not to let the world desensitize my children with images that may be "harmless". Because a little poop is still poop none the less.
