Have you been baptized by the Holy Spirit ? the Holy Spirit does not indwell with the repentant sinner, at the time of their conversion:

Acts 8:16 For the Holy Spirit had not yet fallen upon any of them; they had simply been baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus. 17 Then Peter and John laid their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit

Act 19:5 On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.6 When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, AND THEY SPOKE IN TONGUES and prophesied.

Its not about speaking in tongues that we intend but the visit of Holy Spirit in our life, you dont understand, rainy days will come as tested to Job, without Holy Spirit baptism our faith is difficult to last.

..as i said..it dwells in me and i am comfortable with it..thank you much
History repeats itself, the Hebrew were waiting for the Messiah and when Jesus came they refused Him, now the Holy Spirit is sent by Jesus Himself to replace Him and He is also refused.

John 14:16 "I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever;
Acts 1:4 "Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about.

Not forcing anybody to rcv the Holy Spirit.

Just wondering..do you believe there are two classes of Christians..based on a baptism..and one would be obviously better than the other? If i were bap. by water and you by the Spirit..you are higher in this caste system. This will be a good debate

Water baptism, is only a testament, like breaking of bread, like Sabbath, to what is happening spiritually. Usually, there should be a class on the significance of the water baptism and how it ties into the spiritual baptism before the person actually do it.

Water baptism before the resurrection whats what the Levi priests had to do as a spiritual cleansing before and after entering the temple. Although they didn't call it baptism per say, as oppose to an immersion, this practice was carried into the NT to signify coming out cleansed from impurity before entering God's presence. There is also parallel to how the people of Israel were deliver twice by going through the water, and being "cleansed" from the evildoers. This water baptism in the NT was, done to show that they were now disciples and part of the body of believers among the public (disciples of Moses I'm assuming before Jesus died). But it also was to be connected later on to how we are washed clean spiritually through the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

So no, water baptism doesn't give you a leg up, despite how some may imply that. But it should be done with an understanding of its significance of history, its testament, and thus the participation of water baptism. You don't have to be physically baptize, salvation doesn't come through rituals, but it comes through the faith, hope and salvation that rest in being renewed by the Holy Spirit, baptized spiritually.

Where do you go from here?? What path of growth are you taking..goals.
Lets encourage others to pursue something other than sitting in a pew for the next 20 years.

After you are strengthened, strengthen your brethren.
