My youth group is called [glow=red]Code Red[/glow]. Everyone who was a part of our drama team was known as an [glow=red]EMT[/glow]- a member of the "Emergency Ministry Team." It's awesome!

I am the Youth Minister of two youth groups, our high school yg is named "C.L.A.Y." which stands for Christ Lives Amongst Youth and our middle school yg is named "C.L.A.Y. too" I know it isn't very original for the middle school, until you hear the reason behind it.....C.L.A.Y. is the original group and we broke away and made a younger yg, but at the time the origianl group was grades 7-12 and we had to move the 7th and 8th graders into their own yg and they felt kind of bad about it at first, this group is the group that named C.L.A.Y. too, and their reason was that C.L.A.Y. too came out of C.L.A.Y., and having the name end in "too" it sounds like "two", like the next part of C.L.A.Y., but the way it is spelled...too....that means also, so it is still C.L.A.Y., just another part of it. I sure hope that makes sense, when one of the kids explain it, it sounds better, but I did the best I could!

I have never heard of this. Having names for youth groups is a new subject for me. Why do we have youth group names? Should this make us seperate for the church? Is being seperated a good thing? Just some questions since Ive never heard of this.

Nice, I really like creative names that also describes the attitude of the group. My church doesn't really have a youth group quite yet, for we are a very young church that has an average age of around 22. The church pastor is 27. There is a youth program in the local schools called 'Impact Remix', but that is amoung a few churches. I have just started a ministry doing videogames, and that is the closest we have to a youth ministry as a church. It is called Games Without Limits (GWL).
