the original intent of the puritans when arriving in the new world was the create a 'city on the hill' for the rest of the world to admire and aspire to. it was a supreme expression of arrogance and hubris which i see perpetuated today by contemporary puritans. the name is a reference to that.

My username is typically "urfavcheerleader" for e-mail accounts, im, and such, but I've come to realize that that's everyone's first impression of me. In the past, I've had so many people define me by a sport I no longer participate in. So I chose "Sarahfina" because "Sarah" is my first name and I absolutely love it and "Sarahfina" was a nickname given to me by a good friend at church.

ACD is one of my favorite authors, and because I feel a kinship to her. I don't often feel like I've been the object of a man's desire or love but I do feel I've been respected for my ability to think.

I chose it because Gwendolyn is my favourite name (though I like my own just fine). It means something akin to, "white ring" or "blessed ring". I just think it is beautiful.
