You're really making @DogmaHunter's point. Thank you for playing.IF that is what God is telling me, sure.
But He had better be convincing, in light of ...
Matthew 4:5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,
Matthew 4:6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
That's not at all an answer to the question I actually asked. If the majority of Christians jumped off a cliff, should I jump too?
1. Because some allegorize, and some don't.You read the same book and follow the same religion.
You both go away believing very different things.
Why is this?
That's all nice.1. Because some allegorize, and some don't.
2. Because some believe science over Scripture, and some believe Scripture over science.
3. Because Satan sows tares in our minds.
I never do, do I?But you still didn't answer the question.
I'm not judging other Christians... I'm just saying 'beware of compromising' God's word in your own thinking. As AV points out Satan knows scripture well, even quotes it, and will not hesitate to use a good thing in the wrong way against you... Matthew 4:6.You mean: you believe what you think the bible says.
Plenty of other christians, the majority actually, doesn't think the bible says what you think it says.
@Speedwell is one of them.
So, what makes you think that you are correct and the majority of christians are wrong?
That's not at all an answer to the question I actually asked.

Why is this? What makes you think that you know better then them?

Why do scientists have different scientific theories since they all have the same evidence?????
It’s exactly the same since you dismiss anything else as being correct except for the theory you choose to believe in.....Competing scientific hypothesis, is not at all the same as someone claiming to have absolute truth.
How does anyone choose between different theories? One goes with whatever fits the facts best.I'm not asking about what you think of them.
I'm asking why you think you know better then them.
I note I had to repeat this questions plenty of times now.
They reject the Bible, now there are some seven different theories as to how we got our moon. How does anyone choose between different theories? One goes with whatever fits the facts best.
Correction. They reject several interpretations of the BibleThey reject the Bible
How many Christian denominations are there?there are some seven different theories as to how we got our moon.
Are we talking about the same scientists, here?Correction. They reject several interpretations of the Bible.
How many do you need?Bungle_Bear said:How many Christian denominations are there?
How many have you got? If it's more than 7 then your comment about how many theories there are regarding the origin of the moon will look silly and ill-chosen - or should that be "even more silly and ill-chosen than it does already."How many do you need?
Oh I’d say there are about 20 or so denominations, but only one theory of how we got the moon..... God created it......How many have you got? Yes.I don't know. Do you?
You probably think that's a clever answer, but you'd be wrong. Deliberately confusing two issues just makes you look silly.Oh I’d say there are about 20 or so denominations, but only one theory of how we got the moon..... God created it......
So he doesn’t really look all that silly, does he..... compared to one astronomy field with 7 different theories....... and that’s only counting the main ones.....
It was incredibly clever. You are just mad because you didn’t think it through and left yourself open to a comeback.....You probably think that's a clever answer, but you'd be wrong. Deliberately confusing two issues just makes you like silly. Again.
