The person who coined the phrase "All religions point to the one God (Which is love)" may not have understood religion at all.

But there is one thing that I have found that does connect all main religions, the idea that good and evil exist. All of our morality exists around our ideas of good and evil, this is the common thread which all religions have . But their ideas around love and how to get to that love is all different.

What do you think.

I believe this speaks to our common desire to be reunited with our Creator, to receive the guidance of our Father, and to feel the presence of the Spirit.

The fact that there are so many religions speaks to our tendency to make things more complicated than they need to be.

Having “Good and Evil” in all religions may not be the result of man forming a religion that creates a standard of good and evil, but has to do with empathy. All humans, at least for a while, are burdened by their conscience when they do stuff which hurts others. Eventually a person’s heart can be hardened to the point of not feeling any empathy for others, but that takes time.

I think he understood religion quite well as men perceive it, he just didn't understand who God is.

I meant similar in their view, such as that both teach he is monotheistic. Not saying both are the same (Allah is a false god, but Muslim do believe in one god).

We may not know everything about who God is, but we can know what he has revealed about himself.

I haven't studied all religions, so I can't verify that. Those I have looked into have very important theological differences, so they're definitely not all the same.
