  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Me too. It'd probably be a 4 volume set at least.

Since I have lived longer than a lot of you, I am taking liberties and doubling the 18 to 36 - and doubling up songs by certain bands, too. Even doing so, I have left out quite a bit. Writing these down was very therapeutic, though! Here goes, starting with history:

Gimme Shelter/Happy - Rolling Stones
Rock And Roll/Ramble On - Led Zeppelin **epics**
Time/Comfortably Numb/Another Brick In The Wall Pt. 2 **former Floydian**
Love Reign O'er Me - The Who **it does**
Heroes - David Bowie
Sugar Mountain/Rust Never Sleeps - Neil Young **for teen years and for when I get really old**
Big Time/Don't Give Up/In Your Eyes - Peter Gabriel **SO ruled**
On Some Faraway Beach - Brian Eno **oh, I had a big Eno phase**
Someone Somewhere In Summertime - Simple Minds **for a bad summer**
All Mixed Up - The Cars **but I think I like the Red House Painters version better now**
Age Of Consent/Crystal - New Order **for 2 very different periods**
How Soon Is Now? - The Smiths **remembering the first time I heard it**
Lust For Life - Iggy Pop **you bet**
Still Fighting It - Ben Folds **too applicable**
The Scientist/Shiver - Coldplay
Let Down - Radiohead **I have felt crushed like a bug on the ground**
Lost In The Supermarket/Revolution Rock - The Clash **not just a face in the crowd**
Synchronicity II - The Police **I was a lemming once**
In A Lifetime - Clannad w/Bono **my wedding song :)**
Wicked Game - Chris Isaak **for an intimate song it's just, wow**
Under The Milky Way - The Church
Could You Be Loved/Jamming - Bob Marley **sitting on the beach with a fruity drink**
IHOP - Luna **I love breakfast**
Otherside - Red Hot Chili Peppers
Can't Get There From Here - REM **if only I had known**
Once In A Lifetime - Talking Heads **self explanatory**
Car Wheels On A Gravel Road/Righteously - Lucinda Williams
Cliffs Of Dover - Eric Johnson **for love of the guitar**
Trouble - Dave Matthews **get behind me now**
Long Shadow - Joe Strummer **written for Johnny Cash but very relevant**
Ripple - Grateful Dead
Smile - Jayhawks
More Than This - Roxy Music
Heaven - Los Lonely Boys **how far is it?**
Crazy Times - Jars Of Clay
Did You Feel The Mountains Tremble - Delirious **hope for the future**

Thanks for listening!

In no particular order:

>Los Lonely Boys-"Heaven"
>Mars ILL-"My Life"
>U2-"Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For"
>311-"All Mixed Up"
>Limp Bizkit-"Break Stuff"
>Pigeon John-"Life Goes On"
>Skillet-"Kill Me, Heal Me"
>Switchfoot-"Meant To Live"
>P.O.D.-"Alive"

I swing back and forth between moods a lot. This is just a list off the top of my head though.
