  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Gah, I've got everything from Astronomy to Zoology on mine. :\

Mostly Fantasy books though.

This sounds a lot like my library. Leaning very heavily toward fantasy, but with a little bit of everything tossed in. Fiction, non-fiction, poetry, drama, graphic novels, etc. I don't think I will ever own a house large enough to store every book that I'd like to have in my library, though. Heck, I barely have enough room for the books that I own now. I know I should donate some to the local used bookstore, but I hate giving up books. :(

Some theology, five Bibles, a little Church history, a few Church Fathers, a couple books on various heresies, a few lives of modern holy people, the Chronicles of Narnia, a few history books, some classic literature like "The Grapes of Wrath" and of course the Harry Potter series and Calvin and Hobbes.

That's what I have now. What I would like (God willing) is expanded theology section, an expanded Church history section as well as Church Fathers. Basically, an expanded "Everything Christian theology" section.

I won't go into specifics about which books I have in my own personal library because I will be here all day typing this post. I have all sorts: poetry, plays, historical fiction, thrillers, philosophical books, general fiction, historical non-fiction, textbooks, christian literature, books on ethical living and the classics.

We have two library's in my area and I like them both. I get a lot of little kids books out for circle time for my daycare and they both are well stocked with themed books for kids that have to do with the season of some particular event that is happening. I also like the selection of music and movies at both branches for me and the little one.

My library at the moment is really small, I wish it was bigger.

I've got Fight Club, Socrates Cafe, a philosophy textbook, education 101 textbook, psychology textbook, Mere Christianity, a Bible, a study bible, Plato's Republic, a dictionary, Fahrenheit 451, a few drawing books, Excel 2000 for dummies, the last three Harry Potter books, some manga...

and that's it. It sounds like a lot but I can still fit a lot more on my shelf.

I have mostly history books in my library. They range from classical Roman and Greek, Hellenistic, late Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman to the medieval west, Reformation, and WWII. I also have early Christian and modern theology books. Modern historiography. Various dictionaries (Greek, Latin, French, German).

Non-history books include the Xanth series by Piers Anthony, Forgotten Realms, Dragonlance, poetry, and classics such as Robin Hood, King Arthur, Robinson Crusoe, and Treasure Island.

Mostly comedy/trivia and comics collections (Far Side :p); compendiums of information such as Davidson's Dictionary of Angels, Denominational Handbooks of both Christianity and 'in the United States' (which is actually a World Religions denom handbook); a few regular novels, some unfinished manga series that I had to stop buying because of a lack of a job...that's about it. Textbooks/literature for school and a couple Bibles are a given, though.

As for what I'd like to have, aside from the rest of those series still unfinished (and more I've been following in scanlation form), then guides to learning how to program in C, and Japanese. After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator related stuff would probably be nice too, considering that's more immediately relevant to my hobby and career needs.
