who's going to get down on their knees to see if we vacuumed under the couch

My Mom, that's who.. :)

This brings to mind a "helpful hint" I read several years ago - I think it was Heloise (not that it matters).

She was giving housekeeping guidelines - she said that if we get that phone call from our folks saying they're a couple of miles away to stand in the doorway of the room - clean everything that you can easily see, then wave around a rag soaked in Pine-Sol to scent the air. Everyone will think you keep an immaculate house:thumbsup:

My favorite quote is:

"The essence of legalism is trusting in religious activity, rather than trusting in God

It is putting our confidence in a practice rather than in a person.

And without fail, this will lead us to loving the practice more than the Person."

I thought it was by Thomas á Kempis, but I can't seem to find verification of that.

Not all who wander are lost.

It is possible to learn from an enemy things we cannot learn from friends.

Good ideas need landing gear as well as wings.

Don’t cross the stream to find water.

"God can afford to wait. God can afford to wait. Whether to convert the unbelieving, to rreward the just, or to punish the wicked - God can afford to wait. With Him everything comes home in the end. Our work is not only to believe that, but show that we believe it by everything that we say and do. God can afford to wait. God can affort to wait." - Richard Adams/SHARDIK

Happy Belated Birthday, Dyan!! Did you have a nice one?

This saying is one my dad always said "You have to make hay while the sun shines"

and

"Don't count your chickens until they're hatched"

And for my hubby FASTEddie...

"Time waits for no man"... ;)

A professional is someone who can do his best work when he doesn’t feel like it.

Discovering is seeing what everybody else has seen & thinking what nobody else thought.
